On December 17, 2024, Tang Wei, General Manager of Peking University Pioneer Technology Co., Ltd., Li Yankui, New Business Director, Tian Dongfang, New Business Manager, and Lan Na and Dong Honggang, Marketing Promotion Managers, visited the Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute. They had a discussion with Xiao Bangguo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President, as well as professionals from the Comprehensive Planning Department and the Low Carbon Development Research Center, to jointly promote the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the steel industry.

General Manager Tang Wei introduced the development history, business layout, scientific research capabilities of Peking University Pioneer, as well as the solutions and typical cases provided in recent years in the fields of low-carbon utilization of steel and gas, pressure swing adsorption oxygen production, tempering co production, and carbon dioxide capture. He pointed out that Peking University Pioneer has always adhered to the concept of energy conservation, environmental protection, and low-carbon production, specializing in the research and development of pressure swing adsorption gas separation and energy-saving and environmental protection technologies, as well as the design, manufacturing, and engineering implementation of complete sets of equipment, and providing equipment leasing, operation and maintenance, and comprehensive maintenance services; Committed to promoting the industrial application of innovative technologies, promoting industrial transformation and upgrading through advanced technology, and solving gas application problems and providing high-quality products and services for users of basic industrial enterprises such as steel, chemical, and non-ferrous metallurgy. General Manager Tang Wei hopes to enhance communication and cooperation with the Metallurgical Planning Institute, so that Peking University Pioneer can have a deep understanding of the steel industry policies, industry carbon reduction situation, and enterprise transformation needs, fully leverage its own advantages, and contribute to the efficient recycling and utilization of resources and energy, as well as energy conservation and carbon reduction development of steel enterprises.

Vice Secretary Xiao Bangguo analyzed the carbon constraints faced by steel enterprises, export tests such as CBAM, current low-carbon transformation key tasks, and future carbon price trends based on his interpretation of national industrial policy requirements and the development situation of the steel industry. He pointed out that the inclusion of the steel industry in the national carbon market will have a profound impact on many aspects such as the production and operation mode, process structure, raw material structure, and energy structure of steel enterprises. The green and low-carbon development of iron and steel enterprises is inseparable from the continuous innovation and implementation of advanced technological achievements. It is necessary to consider not only the progressiveness, applicability and reliability of technology, but also the investment cost, operation cost, economic benefits and other factors of technology.
