What are the factors that affect the ultimate vacuum value of a vacuum pumping unit?
Date: 2025-08-09Read: 4

The direct influencing factors of the ultimate vacuum degree of the vacuum pumping unit mainly include the following aspects:

System leakage

Leakage is the primary factor limiting the ultimate vacuum degree. External air leakage is commonly caused by poor sealing at flange connections, weld cracks, valve failure, etc. Internal air leakage may be due to water infiltration into the vacuum chamber caused by a ruptured cooling water pipeline. Leakage can cause pressure fluctuations in the system and reduce the maximum vacuum level.

Vacuum pump performance

The type of pump (such as rotary vane pump, Roots pump, molecular pump) and working state directly affect the pumping speed and ultimate vacuum degree. High temperature or impurity pollution can reduce the pumping speed and ultimate vacuum degree of the pump, requiring regular replacement of seals and maintenance of the pump body.

Cooling system configuration

The temperature and flow rate of cooling water directly affect the steam condensation effect. The higher the outlet temperature of the cooling water, the lower the vacuum degree. It is necessary to lower the outlet temperature (such as increasing the water volume or lowering the inlet water temperature) to increase the vacuum degree.

The original gas in the container

The residual gas components in the container are closely related to the selectivity of the vacuum pump. If the original gas composition in the container does not match the pumping speed of the pump, it may limit the ultimate vacuum degree.

Pipeline and equipment resistance

Complex pipeline layout or excessive resistance of foam removal devices can reduce the stability of vacuum degree. Simplifying pipeline design and optimizing equipment configuration can improve the ultimate vacuum degree. ‌
