A vacuum oil filter is a key equipment used to process oil products such as transformer oil, turbine oil, and lubricating hydraulic oil. Vacuum degree is the core indicator of a vacuum oil filter, which directly affects the dehydration effect (water evaporation depends on the low boiling point in a vacuum environment).
Common phenomenon: The vacuum gauge displays a vacuum degree lower than the set value (such as -0.065~-0.098MPa normally), or the vacuum degree rises slowly.
Possible reasons and maintenance methods
1. Decreased performance of vacuum pump
Reason:Vacuum pump oil contamination (including moisture and impurities) leads to lubrication or sealing failure; Wear and tear inside the pump (such as rotor blades and scratches on the pump chamber) reduces the pumping efficiency; Insufficient or mislabeled pump oil (special vacuum pump oil is required).
maintain:
►Regularly check the vacuum pump oil (it is recommended to replace it every 500 hours or when the oil quality is cloudy), and clean the pump chamber when changing the oil;
►If the pump produces loud noise and generates heat during operation, it may be due to wear and tear. It is necessary to shut down and disassemble the pump for inspection, replace the rotor, spring, or repair the pump chamber.
2. Vacuum system leakage
Reason:Aging or loosening of pipeline interfaces, flanges, and valve gaskets; Cracks in the weld seam of the vacuum separator (degassing tank); Observation window seal failure (leakage at the glass and metal seal).
maintain:
►After starting the vacuum pump, apply soapy water to suspicious interfaces (such as pipe joints and flanges) and observe for any bubbles;
►Focus on inspecting the vacuum separator (due to low internal pressure and potential stress cracks caused by temperature differences), and if necessary, use a helium mass spectrometer leak detector to locate it;
►Replace aging gaskets (such as Ding Qing O-ring seals, fluororubber gaskets), repair or replace cracked parts.
3Blockage of oil mist separator (gas-liquid separation device)
Reason:The oil mist particles formed by excessive impurities in the oil or evaporation of water adhere to the filter screen or baffle of the separator, hindering the separation of oil and gas and increasing the pumping resistance of the vacuum pump.
maintain:
►Regularly disassemble and clean the oil mist separator (recommended every 200 hours or when the vacuum degree is abnormal), and use compressed air to blow back or clean the filter screen;
►If the structure of the separator is complex (such as multi-layer baffles), it is necessary to check for carbon or oil sludge accumulation, and if necessary, clean it with solvent.
