Development of Monofilament Filter Cloth

  HBzhan content introduction: The filtering material is the heart of the filtering and separation equipment, and is an important part that determines the separation effect. The service life of filter cloth is determined by many factors, among which the selection of raw materials is one of the main influencing factors. The service life of filter cloth is not only affected by the wear of the material itself, but more importantly, by the corrosion of the working substance on the filter cloth.
  
As an industrial filter cloth, it is required to have the following characteristics: good solid capture effect; Fast filtration speed, minimal blockage, and stable filtration speed; Good stripping performance of filter residue; No expansion and good dimensional stability; Long service life.
  
In the above performance, the stripping ability of filter residue has a significant impact on the repeated use life of filter cloth, especially in continuous production processes. Short fiber or double fiber filter cloth has a better solid capture effect, but in use, the stripping effect of filter residue is poor, which reduces the repeated use life of the filter cloth. We use monofilament to make the new filter cloth, which solves many problems caused by poor peelability and greatly improves the service life and filtration capacity of the filter cloth.
  
Requirements and technical specifications for the use of filter cloth
  
Continuous vacuum suction filter is generally used for solid-liquid environment separation with wide particle diameter distribution. In the production process, due to the presence of settling tanks in the subsequent steps, finer particles can be removed, resulting in lower requirements for the amount of suspended solids (plankton) in the filtrate, which can be controlled at 15g/l and does not require clarification of the filtrate. This environment requires fast filtration speed and long service life of filter cloth, suitable for continuous production. Monofilament filter cloth has high strength, good dimensional stability, and easy control of filtration quality. On the other hand, the surface of the monofilament is smooth, and the filter residue is easily peeled off, which can improve the continuous service life. At the same time, compared with short fibers and composite fibers, monofilament has a smaller specific surface area and a smaller contact area with the working substance, reducing environmental erosion of the filter cloth and improving its wear resistance.
  
We choose the ninth structural phase of the fabric, which has a higher warp density and a lower weft density, with a fabric coverage coefficient of over 90%. The warp fibers exhibit a bent shape, while the weft fibers are almost not bent. The pores formed by this structural phase are mainly lateral pores, with few or almost no direct pores perpendicular to the surface. From the perspective of the filtration mechanism of the filter cloth, non straight through pores (side pores) can improve the inertial separation performance of the filter cloth.

(1) Raw material specifications: 50.26mm polypropylene monofilament is used in the warp direction, with a monofilament strength of 17.1N and a fracture elongation of 13%; The weft direction adopts 50.2mm polypropylene monofilament.

Main technical measures
  
The main equipment for producing monofilament filter cloth is the G112-250 slitting and warping machine and the 1515M-190 weaving machine, with a weaving speed of 120r/min. Due to the high stiffness and low elongation of the single filament, it is difficult to weave on a 1515M loom with high tension requirements. In order to more effectively control the content of suspended matter, it is necessary to further reduce the pores of the fabric. We choose finer warp yarns and coarser warp yarns, which not only reduce the pores of the fabric but also do not decrease its wear resistance, thus balancing the service life and filtration performance of the filter cloth. In terms of fabric weave design, we choose a 2/2 twill pattern. The surface of the filter cloth is smoother and easier to remove slag compared to a plain weave. Moreover, under the same tightness, twill weaving is less difficult than plain weaving.
