Repair of tablet press malfunction

During the use of a single stamping press, problems are inevitable. After a problem occurs, it is necessary to carefully inspect it, identify the faults and causes of the press, and handle them in a timely manner. Below are a few common problems and solutions of the press:

  1、 Cannot power on

Firstly, check each protective device, such as lubrication protection, pressure overload protection, door and window safety protection, main motor overload protection, and feeding motor overload protection, and eliminate them one by one. If it still cannot be turned on, seek professional electrical personnel to check the circuit and find the cause to solve the problem.

  2、 There is an abnormal sound from the vibration of the equipment

Reason: 1. The synchronous belt is too tight or too loose, adjust it appropriately;

2. The motor and mechanical transmission parts experience periodic resonance, and should avoid using the vibration section speed;

3. Long term use causes large gaps in the transmission parts and loose components. It is necessary to adjust the gaps and tighten the components;

4. There are many particles and powder that are sticky, causing blockage and flushing. Adjust the particles to solve the problem;

5. Shaft and bearing lack oil and wear, regular inspection and replacement are necessary;

6. The main worm gear box is short of oil, worn, and produces noise. Lubricating oil should be replaced regularly;

7. The pressure on both sides of the double pressure tablet press is uneven, and the adjustment is consistent.

  3、 Wear of rail guide and punch rod

Regularly inject oil to ensure lubrication of the rail guide. Repair minor damages and replace severe ones.

4、 Unstable weight and out of tolerance

1. Unequal length of downward punch causes out of tolerance, repair and replace with new punch;

2. The particles are hard, uneven in size, contain foreign objects, have a lot of powder, poor flowability, and high humidity. Re granulation is necessary;

3. The filling rail is severely worn, with large displacement and out of tolerance, and needs to be replaced with a new one;

4. The forced feeding speed does not match the turntable speed, adjust the matching;

5. Serious blockage or inconsistent damping tightness, cleaning the mold, punching, and adjusting damping should be consistent.

 5、 Tablet fragmentation and layering

1. There are many granular powders with low adhesion, so it is necessary to reduce the powder and increase the adhesive;

2. Particles with low moisture content increase humidity;

3. High pressure, reduce pressure.

 6、 Sticky and fragmented

1. The particle viscosity is high and there is less release agent. Adding release agent or coating a layer of release agent on the mold before production is recommended;

2. Adjust the particle humidity when it is high;

3. The environment has high humidity and temperature, so it is necessary to reduce indoor humidity and temperature;

4. If the turntable is loose, simply tighten it;

5. The punching hole on the turntable is severely worn, repair or replace it with a new turntable;

6. Wear and tear during downward punching, insufficient height of the wafer, replace with a new punch or elevate the wafer rail;

7. The surface of the sheet is damaged and the smoothness is low. Replace the mold or repair the sheet shape.

During the use of the equipment, different problems may arise, such as broken counters, malfunctioning tachometers, and adjustment failures. These problems can vary greatly. In order for the equipment to operate normally and produce high-quality tablets, the first step is to ensure that the particles are good and can be compressed, as well as the decompression tablet machine. The role of each component is to ensure the cleanliness of the equipment and lubrication of the parts. Only by having a clear understanding can the cause of the problem be promptly identified, eliminated, and the tablet machine operate normally.
