Emergency Plan for UASB Anaerobic Reactor
Date: 2025-12-30Read: 3
To ensure the safe operation of UASB anaerobic reactors and respond promptly to sudden abnormalities, a systematic treatment process needs to be developed, covering emergency scenarios such as equipment failures, water quality deterioration, and gas leaks. The specific operating procedures are as follows:
Abnormal treatment of anaerobic pump
If the anaerobic pump produces abnormal noise, the motor is too hot, or the current/voltage is too high, immediately press the stop button to cut off the power and notify maintenance personnel for inspection. At the same time, the standby pump needs to be turned on, and the operation record of the pump needs to be checked before use to confirm that it meets the conditions for use. During maintenance, it is necessary to cut off the power supply of the equipment, pull out the distribution box inside the distribution cabinet, lock the distribution cabinet, hang a warning sign saying "under inspection, no closing", and arrange for a dedicated person to supervise on site to ensure safety.
Abnormal handling of pipelines and lines
If any abnormal phenomena (such as leakage, damage, etc.) are found in the pipeline or line, the maintenance personnel should be notified immediately to investigate the cause. Before repair, the relevant valves should be closed or the power should be cut off to prevent secondary accidents.
Deterioration treatment of effluent quality
If the effluent quality of the reactor deteriorates (such as COD and SS exceeding the standard), the technical personnel should be notified immediately, and the inflow should be suspended to investigate the cause. Process parameters should be adjusted or sludge reflux should be carried out to ensure that the water quality meets the standard before resuming operation.
Water seal emptying operation
When the water level inside the water seal is too high or needs to be emptied, slowly drain water from the bottom, control the speed to decrease by 20cm every half hour, and perform small operations multiple times. The valve opening speed should be extremely slow to prevent damage to the gas collection hood due to negative pressure, while monitoring changes in water level to avoid excessive venting.
Treatment of excessive biogas concentration
If the concentration of biogas in a certain area is found to be too high, it is necessary to immediately search for the leakage point (such as pipeline damage or loose valves), set up warning signs to prohibit open flames, and report to the safety officer. If necessary, start the ventilation system to dilute the gas and ensure personnel safety.
Through the above processing flow, various abnormalities in the operation of UASB reactors can be effectively addressed, ensuring stable equipment operation and personnel safety. In practical operation, it is necessary to flexibly adjust according to the on-site situation and regularly practice emergency plans.
