Problems in the operation of pump stations
Date: 2025-12-24Read: 3

During the trial operation of the pump station, various problems may be encountered. Here are some common trial run issues and their possible causes:

1. Startup issue:

Unable to start: This may be due to power failure, control circuit issues, or starter malfunction.

Excessive starting current: It may be due to motor or starter failure, or excessive load on the pump.

2. Abnormal operation:

Pump not absorbing water or insufficient flow: This may be due to blockage of the inlet pipeline, unopened inlet valve, low inlet water level of the pump, or incorrect pump speed.

Excessive noise and vibration of the pump: This may be due to improper installation of the pump, worn bearings, unbalanced impellers, or air inside the pump.

3. Motor issues:

Motor overheating: It may be due to overload operation, cooling system failure, or motor wiring errors.

Motor insulation degradation: may be due to motor moisture, dust accumulation, or long-term disuse.

4. Control system issues:

The control system is not responding: it may be due to a control panel malfunction, sensor malfunction, or programming error.

Automation system failure: may be due to sensor malfunction, actuator malfunction, or control system logic error.

5. Pipeline and valve issues:

Pipeline leakage: It may be due to loose pipeline connections, damaged seals, or aging pipelines.

Inert valve operation: This may be due to the valve not being used for a long time, insufficient lubrication, or damaged valve core.

6. Safety device issues:

The emergency stop button is not functioning: it may be due to a safety device malfunction or circuit connection issue.

The alarm system is not working: it may be due to sensor malfunction or improper alarm system settings.

7. Performance not up to standard:

The head or flow rate does not meet the design requirements: it may be due to improper pump selection, excessive system resistance, or the pump's operating point deviating from the design working point.

8. Other issues:

There is an odor or harmful gas in the pump station: it may be due to sewage leakage or accumulation of harmful gases in the sewage pump station.

Water accumulation in the pump station: It may be due to blockage in the drainage system or insufficient waterproofing measures in the pump station.
