The disadvantages of aircraft pitot tubes directly affect whether the aircraft can soar normally. Taking the Boeing series aircraft as an example, this article comprehensively analyzes the common disadvantages of aircraft pitot tubes from the perspective of system principles, functional characteristics, and data statistics. Based on the analysis results, corresponding route and engineering protection measures are proposed, including pitot tubes, full pressure static pressure systems, and aircraft. Introduction: Modern aircraft have overcome the era of low altitude soaring relying solely on visual navigation.
Having mastered the technology of high-altitude soaring and even the ability to fly in space, as an aircraft, the cruising altitude is generally between 23000-40000 feet, which is about 7000-12000 meters. Soarers in high altitude cannot distinguish landmarks as reference objects with the naked eye, and can only rely on various soaring parameters flashing on the surface or computer to complete normal soaring.
The total pressure and static pressure system on the aircraft calculates various soaring parameters through atmospheric data computers, and the pitot tube is one of the central parts of the total pressure and static pressure system. The full pressure and static pressure it supplies are not only directly transmitted to the atmospheric data computer, but also serve as the primary source of backup altimeter, backup airspeed indicator, and other data.
Once a pitot tube has a defect, its operational function will decrease sensitively, and then the function of the full pressure static pressure system will directly decrease synchronously, leading to abnormal flashing of soaring parameters and even disappearance of indicators. In this case, only data collected from another set of spare pitot tubes can be used. If even the spare pitot tube has the disadvantage of not being able to obtain any useful soaring data, it is like a pilot being blindfolded and soaring, and the results can be imagined.
