Analysis of the usage method of environmental pressure reducing valve: working principle and usage method of pressure reducing valveInstructions for using environmentally friendly pressure reducing valves Use of environmentally friendly pressure reducing valves
A pressure reducing valve is a specialized device that automatically reduces the working pressure of a pipeline. It can reduce the high water pressure in the pipeline in front of the valve to the required level in the pipeline behind the valve. Pressure reducing valves are widely used in high-rise buildings, areas with high water pressure in urban water supply networks, mines, and other occasions to ensure that each water point in the water supply system receives appropriate service water pressure and flow. Given that the leakage rate and degree of water waste are almost proportional to the water pressure in the water supply system, pressure reducing valves have the potential to improve system operating conditions and save water. According to statistics, their water-saving effect is about 30%.

A pressure reducing valve is a type of valve that adjusts the flow rate of the medium by controlling the opening of the opening and closing components inside the valve body, reducing the pressure of the medium. At the same time, the opening of the opening and closing components is adjusted by the pressure behind the valve to maintain the pressure within a certain range. Cooling water is sprayed into the valve body or behind the valve to lower the temperature of the medium. This type of valve is called a pressure reducing and temperature reducing valve. The characteristic of this valve is to maintain the outlet pressure and temperature values within a certain range while the inlet pressure is constantly changing. A pressure reducing valve is a component of a pneumatic control valve, mainly used to reduce and stabilize the pressure of the air source to a constant value, so that the control valve can obtain stable air source power for regulation and control.

According to the structural form, it can be divided into membrane type, spring membrane type, piston type, lever type, and bellows type; According to the number of valve seats, it can be divided into single seat and double seat types; According to the position of the valve disc, it can be divided into positive action type and reverse action type. According to the medium of use, it can be divided into steam pressure reducing valves, air pressure reducing valves, gas pressure reducing valves, etc.

A pressure reducing valve is an automatic valve that achieves pressure reduction by changing the throttling area to alter the flow rate and kinetic energy of the fluid, resulting in different pressure losses. It relies on the energy of the medium itself to control and regulate the system, balancing the fluctuation of pressure behind the valve with the spring force, and maintaining a constant pressure behind the valve within a certain error range.

Principles for selecting pressure reducing valves:

The fluctuation of the inlet pressure of the pressure reducing valve should be controlled within 80% to 105% of the given inlet pressure. If it exceeds this range, the performance of the pressure reducing valve will be affected.

2. Usually, the pressure Pc behind the pressure reducing valve should be less than 0.5 times the pressure in front of the valve, that is, Pc<0.5P1. Each spring of the pressure reducing valve is only applicable within a certain outlet pressure range, and the spring should be replaced if it exceeds the range.

In situations where the working temperature of the medium is relatively high, pilot operated piston pressure reducing valves or pilot operated bellows pressure reducing valves are generally selected.

When the medium is air or water (liquid), it is generally advisable to use a direct acting diaphragm pressure reducing valve or a pilot operated diaphragm pressure reducing valve.

When the medium is steam, it is advisable to use a pilot piston pressure reducing valve or a pilot bellows pressure reducing valve.

For the convenience of operation, adjustment, and maintenance, pressure reducing valves should generally be installed on horizontal pipelines.

There are many types of pressure reducing valves, including membrane type and internal spring piston type, which were commonly used in the past. The basic principle of a pressure reducing valve is to reduce water pressure by relying on the local resistance of the flow channel in the valve to the water flow. The range of water pressure drop is automatically adjusted by the inlet and outlet water pressure difference on both sides of the diaphragm or piston connected to the valve disc. In recent years, some new types of pressure reducing valves have emerged, such as fixed ratio pressure reducing valves. The principle of fixed ratio pressure reducing is to control the water pressure ratio of the floating piston in the valve body, and the pressure reducing ratio at the inlet and outlet ends is inversely proportional to the area ratio of the piston on the inlet and outlet sides. This pressure reducing valve works smoothly without vibration; There is no spring inside the valve body, so there is no concern of spring corrosion or metal fatigue failure; Good sealing performance without leakage, thus reducing both dynamic pressure (when water flows) and static pressure (when flow rate is 0); Especially when reducing pressure without affecting water flow.

Pressure reducing valves usually come in various specifications such as DN50 to DN100, with working pressures of<1MPa and 01-05MPa before and after the valve, respectively, and a pressure regulation range error of ± 5% to 10%.
