In general, fiberglass centrifugal fans need to be connected to pipelines. So, how are they usually connected? Is direct connection possible?

Generally, it is not directly connected for two reasons: one is that the diameter of the fan is generally not the same as that of the pipeline, and the other is that even if the diameter is the same, direct connection will cause significant vibration.

Soft connections are generallyPVCMaterial, corrosion-resistant, with shock-absorbing effect. One end of the soft connection is connected to the fan, which is a flange connection. The diameter should be matched with the fan or outlet. The other end is connected to the pipeline.

There are two situations when connecting with pipelines: one is when the pipeline has a flange, and the other end of the flexible connection also has a flange, and the two flanges are connected (fixed with a circle of screws); Another type is that the pipeline has no flange, so the other end of the flexible connection does not need to have a flange. However, a soft straight tube needs to be added, and the inner diameter of the straight tube is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the pipeline. In this way, the pipeline can be inserted into the soft straight tube of the flexible connection and then twisted with a steel wire rope, which is also very convenient for installation.

The diameter of the inlet or outlet of a general fan is different from that of the pipeline, so the soft connection of the fan not only plays a role in shock absorption, but also can play a role in reducing the diameter.
