At present, in terms of water supply and drainage, the pre-treatment water quality of electrolytic air flotation machines mainly consists of lightweight suspended particles, except for some raw water bodies with high sand content and sewage with heavy mechanical impurities. For these raw waters, if traditional sedimentation methods are used, the effect will inevitably be poor, especially under low temperature conditions in winter. Due to the deterioration of coagulation and hydraulic conditions, the treatment effect is even more difficult to guarantee. It can be imagined that if the difficult to precipitate flocs are forced to sink, it will be twice the result with half the effort. It is better to take advantage of the situation and artificially introduce bubbles into the water to adhere to the flocs, thereby significantly reducing the overall density of the flocs. With the speed of the bubbles rising, they can be forcibly floated up to achieve rapid solid-liquid separation. In this sense, the emergence of air flotation technology is a revolution in gravity settling method, which has opened up a new field of solid liquid separation technology.
