The meeting believes that in the tide of "going global" in the petrochemical industry, petrochemical engineering enterprises should become the core of the industry's group going global and be at the forefront of the industry cluster's "going global".

Li Shousheng, president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said that promoting the implementation of the "the Belt and Road" initiative in China's engineering construction is of great practical significance for strengthening cooperation among engineering construction enterprises, strengthening project management, and building an engineering company in China. Petrochemical engineering companies should fully leverage their advantages and strive to become the core force of the petrochemical industry's "going global" initiative.

Rong Shili, president of Sinopec Survey and Design Association, pointed out that a number of Chinese enterprises are making strides in technology and capital export. Facing the new development opportunities of the "the Belt and Road", Chinese enterprises cannot fight alone, but should rely on cooperation and sharing; We cannot have a complacent mindset. We should recognize our existing problems and gaps, widely absorb the development experience of large companies, and continuously enhance our own strength.

It is reported that in 2016, China's foreign contracted engineering completed a turnover of 159.42 billion US dollars, with a newly signed contract amount of 2440.1 billion US dollars. At the same time, China's foreign direct investment surged to 188.8 billion US dollars, setting a new historical high. Faced with the continuous expansion of China's outward investment and the transformation of the engineering market, many survey and design enterprises have also taken gratifying steps in exploring the engineering market. According to statistics, from 2006 to 2015, the total amount of overseas engineering general contracting contracts completed by about 170 domestic survey and design enterprises increased from 16.6 billion yuan to 72.8 billion yuan.

Wang Ziniu, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Survey and Design Association, stated that Chinese survey and design enterprises must seize opportunities, accelerate their pace of development, position themselves strategically, standardize project operations, focus on cultivating composite talents and shaping corporate brands, and align with business models, talent structures, standards, informatization, and risk management.

Feng Hui, Vice President of BASF (China) Co., Ltd., shared the experience of foreign engineering companies in project operation. He suggested that Chinese engineering companies should conduct preliminary market research in the target market, and have a detailed understanding of local cultural differences, legal requirements, government approvals, local regulations, customs laws, etc. To reduce the risk of "going global", it is necessary to study the requirements of the project location for projects executed overseas, fully clarify the taxes required by law, and pay special attention to withholding and paying taxes, value-added tax, and other taxes.

Han Zongkui, Vice President of the Investment Execution Center of Air Liquide Asia Pacific, suggested that companies going global should have a risk management team and pay attention to external risks, contract risks, asset investment risks, technical risks, and operational risks.

Fu Wu, President and Representative of the Beijing Representative Office of Anglo American Resources Group, said that the Chinese market is very important, and Chinese demand has created the last round of mining prosperity. Therefore, Chinese companies need to play the card of Chinese demand when going global.
