Hydraulic test valve (blocking valve) is one of the commonly used matching valves for power plant boilers, mainly installed on the steam pipelines at the outlet of the superheater, reheater, and reheater, as an isolation device for the overall hydraulic test of the unit. After the hydrostatic test, the blocking valve can be left on the pipeline as a channel for use.
At present, power plants generally use water pressure test valves as isolation devices for the overall water pressure test of boiler units. During the hydrostatic test, the valve disc assembly is installed into the valve body, and the screw is adjusted with a wrench to provide the valve disc with the initial preload force. When the pressure of the hydraulic test medium increases, the valve achieves reliable sealing under the action of the medium pressure, and the higher the medium pressure, the better the sealing performance. After the hydrostatic test is completed, remove the valve disc assembly and install it into the guide pipe assembly. At this time, the valve is used as a pipeline, and its inner diameter is the same as the inner diameter of the boiler pipeline, which can eliminate the effects of eddy currents and expansion, reduce flow resistance, and protect the valve seat sealing surface from erosion, extending the service life of the valve.

Structure and selection
　　
The hydraulic test valve mainly has two structural forms: blocking plate and flap plate. Currently, most domestic units use blocking plate. Figure 1 shows a water pressure test valve with a blocking plate structure used on the outlet pipeline of a 300MW boiler reheater. The model is SD61H-64DN400, with a steam maximum working temperature of 350 ℃ and a working pressure of 6.6MPa. It is composed of valve body, valve cover, sealing ring, four ring, test plug plate, support plate, pre tightening screw, and guide pipe, and its specific structural composition is related to the working state. Installed on the outlet of the 300MW boiler superheater, reheater, and outlet steam duct as an isolation device for hydraulic pressure testing. Adopting a pressure self tightening sealing structure with welded connections at both ends. Adopting a flat O-ring seal, the valve seat is made of stainless steel overlay welding. The middle chamber sealing ring can adopt an internal pressure self sealing structure of reinforced flexible graphite or metal sealing ring. When conducting the overall water pressure test of the unit, it is necessary to use a wrench to adjust the adjustment screw and provide initial pre tightening force to the valve disc. When the medium force acts on the valve disc, the sealing force increases to achieve reliable sealing. The middle chamber adopts a pressure self sealing structure.
During pipeline testing, the support plate and blocking plate are installed inside the valve, and the pre tightening screws are tightened to create a certain initial sealing pressure between the sealing surfaces of the blocking plate, blocking the flow of medium to the outlet side. The medium pressure creates sufficient sealing pressure between the blocking plate and the sealing surface of the valve body, ensuring sealing regardless of the pressure of the pipeline testing medium, and meeting the requirements for testing the pipeline on one side of the support plate. After the experiment is completed, remove the blocking plate, install the diversion pipe and valve cover, etc. At this time, the valve is used as a pipeline, and the blocking plate can be installed again during the next water pressure.
When the blocking plate valve is used normally, it is similar to a section of pipe, and the flow resistance of the valve can be ignored, which has no effect on the thermal efficiency of the unit. The disadvantage is that disassembling valve covers, sealing rings, and other parts during testing is labor-intensive and time-consuming, and it is easy to damage the sealing rings, especially the metal sealing rings, which require spare parts
