Formaldehyde Simple Analysis Kit
In recent years, as an important cause of indoor pollution, the problem caused by formaldehyde has received increasing attention. The indoor formaldehyde concentration standard set by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is 0.08ppm. The domestic standard is 0.1mg/m3. At present, DNPH-HPLC detection method or DNPH-GC detection method is generally used to determine formaldehyde concentration. But these detection methods require large and expensive analytical instruments. Therefore, it is very necessary to develop a simple, low-cost, and directly usable detection device on the testing site.
GASTEC company has developed a small capture tube with a simple structure, which uses only about 1 milliliter of absorbent to capture formaldehyde and uses colorimetric analysis for concentration determination (which can obtain results similar to DNPH/HPLC detection method). It has also developed a miniaturized and portable LED colorimeter, forming a complete indoor air formaldehyde detection system.

The feature of using a small capture tube is that the capture tube is composed of a double-layer structure of fluorinated resin inner tube and outer tube, which has almost no obstruction to the passing airflow and excellent sampling performance. Easy to use, suitable for on-site real-time detection. With the use of small capture tubes and portable colorimeter COLM-FA, on-site detection can be carried out and results can be obtained in real-time. The analysis method adopts the AHMT analysis method specified in the Japanese "Sanitary Testing Method", "Guidelines for the Determination of Air Pollutants", and JIS K0303 standard. The colorimetric analysis method can achieve sufficient measurement accuracy by capturing the sample with 1 milliliter of absorption solution, achieving a high precision of about 2 ppb. It can achieve high similarity with DNPH/HPLC method. Basically unaffected by ozone (no need for ozone filtration). Due to its highly targeted selection of formaldehyde, it is not significantly affected by other interfering substances such as aldehydes, ketones, lipids, alcohols, and nitrogen oxides. (This measurement method has been rated as the best practical project for scientific research achievements by the Japan Science and Technology Promotion Agency.)
The principle of a small capture tube is that it is composed of a porous fluorinated resin inner tube and an outer tube, with a double-layer structure. Fill the inner tube with absorbent to absorb formaldehyde. The inhaled atmosphere passes through the gap between the inner and outer pipes, and formaldehyde in the atmosphere is absorbed and captured by the absorbing liquid. When the pumping speed is 0.1L/min, the capture efficiency is about 95%, which can fully meet the requirements of the measurement.
Determination sequence
