Boiler antifreeze is a functional liquid specifically designed for boiler systems, with core functions including antifreeze protection, corrosion and scale prevention, high temperature resistance, and thermal stability. It can effectively prevent pipeline freezing and rupture, and extend equipment life.
Core functions and principles
Boiler antifreeze significantly lowers the freezing point of water by adding chemicals such as ethylene glycol and propylene glycolLow temperature up to -45 ℃) to avoid pipeline expansion and rupture caused by low-temperature icing. The usage method of boiler antifreeze mainly includes the following steps:
1. Dilution ratio and usage concentration:
Indoor use: Antifreeze diluted at a concentration of 15% (diluted 4 times) can withstand temperatures up to -15 ℃, while at a concentration of 20% (diluted 3 times), it can withstand temperatures up to -20 ℃.
Outdoor use: Leave for more than 48 hours, dilute with 1:0.5 times water, freeze resistant to -30 ℃; Dilute with 1:1 water, freeze resistant to -25 ℃; Dilute with 1:2 times water, freeze resistant to -15 ℃, undiluted freeze resistant to -40 ℃.
2. Addition amount and concentration adjustment:
Circulating water tanks with larger volumes (over 500 liters): The amount of antifreeze used should be appropriately reduced to 0.8 times the theoretical value.
Water system pH adjustment: If the pH value of the water system is below 7.0, the pH value should be adjusted to 7.5 or above, and pure alkali can be used to adjust the pH value to greater than 8.5.
Precautions for adding antifreeze
When choosing antifreeze, pay attention to comparing the lower local temperatures to ensure that the freezing point of the antifreeze is lower than the outdoor temperature;
2. Add in moderation during the process. Most antifreeze solutions are corrosive, and excessive use can affect the heat transfer performance of the unit. Therefore, the lower the concentration, the better, while meeting the antifreeze performance requirements.
3. It is not advisable to mix them up. Try to use the same brand of antifreeze as much as possible. Even if the main components of different types of antifreeze are the same, their additive formulas may differ. It is not advisable to mix them together to avoid chemical reactions, precipitation, or the formation of bubbles.
4. Pay attention to the usage time. Generally speaking, the usage time should not be too long and should be replaced regularly. It is recommended to replace it once a year, using pure water in summer and new antifreeze in winter.
5. The applicable regions are mainly in the extremely cold northern regions. In general, the operation of air source heat pump units is not greatly affected in ambient temperatures above -10 ℃, so antifreeze is more suitable for areas north of Beijing or in extremely cold weather conditions in the north.
