Installation and use of water pump:
1. The CDLF vertical stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump should be installed vertically on the ground, and sufficient cold air should be ensured to enter the motor cooling fan during installation. The bottom arrow of the pump indicates the direction of flow through the pump.
2. To minimize the possible noise generated by the pump, it is best to install anti vibration fasteners on both sides of the pump and between the foundation and the pump body. The docking flange, gasket, bolt, and PJE joint are provided as accessories and must be ordered separately. If necessary, when cleaning, repairing, or replacing the pump, isolation valves should be installed on both sides of the pump to prevent system drainage. The installation pipeline of multi-stage centrifugal pumps should avoid air blockage, especially on the suction side of the pump. The pipe should be installed in such a way that any stretching caused by temperature changes will not affect the pump. If the pump is installed on a long pipe, it should be properly supported both in front and behind as shown.
3. If there is a risk of blockage by stones, leaves, small support bars, etc. in multi-stage centrifugal pumps, measures should be taken to prevent such incidents from happening. Install a filter screen on the straw area.
4. In some installation situations, if the drainage pipe is already installed horizontally or tilted downwards by the pump, the water inside the pump will or will inevitably flow out at intervals, and the pump should be protected from causing the impeller to idle. Installing a faulty pipe with a vacuum valve near the pump can avoid this situation. The highest point of the ring pipe should be at least level with the connecting plate of the pump's motor. This way, the drainage pipe can independently drain water from the pump, and vice versa.
5. When the drain valve is closed, the pump is prohibited from running because it can cause an increase in temperature/vapor formation inside the pump, leading to pump damage. If there is any danger to the operation of the pump when the drainage room is closed, connect a bypass or drain pipe to the outlet to ensure that the minimum amount of liquid flows through the pump. A drain pipe, for example, can be connected to a water tank.
6. The minimum quantity of CDL and CDLF light-duty multi-stage pumps.
Example of using a water pump:
An example of a typical high-pressure flushing system diagram. Recommend this installation method as shown in the figure for situations where the "minimum flow" through the pump cannot be guaranteed.
1. The liquid flow switch of the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump will provide protection for the pump, preventing it from being damaged due to high heat generated during operation when the liquid flow is too small.
2. The filter screen of a lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump is installed to protect the liquid flow switch in devices used for transporting slightly polluted water.
Note: The above measures are not necessary in devices with stable liquid flow conditions and the ability to ensure minimum flow rate. In devices with water hammer hazards, a check valve must be installed at the outlet of the pump. Do not use quick closing valves, such as quick closing spray guns, as they can cause water hammer. Affects the connection between the motor and the pump shaft, and in severe cases can cause the pump shaft to break.
Electrical connection of water pump:
1. Before opening the junction box cover and removing the components of the light-duty multi-stage centrifugal pump, the power must be turned off. Electrical connections must be made by qualified electricians in accordance with local regulations. The motor junction box must be correctly connected to the power switch with wires. The operating voltage and frequency are marked on the nameplate. Please note that the power source used should be suitable for the electric motor. The three-phase motor must be connected to a starter with a protective function.
2. The junction box of the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump can be rotated 90 ° and stopped at four positions in sequence. When needed, use a screwdriver to remove the coupling guard plate, but do not remove the coupling. Unscrew the bolts that secure the motor to the pump. Rotate the motor to the desired position. Tighten the bolts again. Reinstall the coupling guard plate so that it is vertically aligned in the recess of the pump head. Electrical connections should be made according to the wiring diagram inside the junction box cover.
Note: Do not start the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump until it is filled with liquid.
Start the water pump:
1、 When the liquid level of a lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump is higher than that of a closed or open system at the pump inlet:
1. Close the drainage isolation valve and loosen the exhaust screw on the pump head.
2. Please pay attention to the direction of the exhaust port and ensure that the water flowing out does not cause harm to people or damage to the motor or other components. In hot water systems, special attention should be paid to the risk of burns caused by hot water.
3. Slowly open the isolation valve on the suction pipe until a steady stream of liquid flows out of the exhaust valve.
4. When starting the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump, tighten the exhaust screw and fully open the isolation valve.
2、 When the liquid level of the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump is lower than that of the pump inlet open system:
1. The suction pipe and pump must be filled with liquid and vented before starting the pump.
2 CDL2、4(CDLF2、4、8、16)
3. Close the drainage isolation valve. Rotate the bypass valve slightly towards the stop as shown in Figure 7.
4. Remove the infusion plug and inject liquid from the infusion port until the suction pipe and pump are completely filled with liquid, then tighten the bypass valve again.
5. When starting the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump, replace the filling plug and firmly tighten it.
3、 Check the rotation direction when starting the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump:
1. Do not start the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump to check the direction of rotation before it is filled with liquid.
2. When checking the direction of motor operation, the coupling should not be disassembled for inspection. Because when the coupling is removed, the position of the shaft needs to be adjusted. The correct direction of rotation is indicated by the arrow on the pump head or on the motor fan cover. From the perspective of the fan, the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump should rotate counterclockwise.
4、 Starting of lightweight vertical multi-stage pump:
1. Before starting the light-duty multi-stage centrifugal pump, the suction side isolation valve of the pump should be fully opened, while the discharge side isolation valve should be almost closed.
2. When starting a lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump, loosen the exhaust screw on the pump head to allow the pump to exhaust until a steady flow of liquid flows out from the exhaust hole, and then tighten the exhaust screw.
Attention: The direction of the exhaust hole should be ensured that the liquid flowing out will not cause harm to people or damage to the motor or other components. In hot water systems, special attention should be paid to the risk of burns caused by hot water. When the pipeline system is filled with liquid, slowly open the isolation valve until it is fully opened. When pumping liquids containing air, it is best to regularly exhaust the pump. To exhaust the pump, loosen the exhaust screw on the pump head during operation.
Pump maintenance, starting and stopping frequency:
Maintenance of CDLF vertical stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump:
1. Before starting the vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump, it is necessary to verify that there is no power supply to the pump and that the pump cannot suddenly start.
2. The bearings and shaft seals of lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pumps do not require maintenance. If the pump is not in use for a long time and needs to be drained, one of the coupling guard plates can be removed, and a few drops of silicone oil can be injected into the shaft between the pump head and the coupling. This can prevent the shaft sealing surface from sticking.
3. When installing the coupling guard, be sure that they are vertically aligned in the recess of the pump head.
CDLF type vertical stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump motor bearing:
4. Electric motors without lubrication nozzles do not require maintenance. Electric motors equipped with lubrication nozzles should be lubricated with high-temperature lithium based grease.
5. If the lightweight multi-stage centrifugal pump is temporarily suspended, it is recommended to clean and lubricate the pump and motor once it is no longer in use.
6. During frost, if the pump is not in use, the water should be drained to prevent damage and cracking. Loosen the exhaust screw on the pump head and remove the drain plug on the base to drain the pump. After the water is drained, the removed components should be reinstalled or properly stored.
Starting and stopping frequency of CDLF vertical stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump:
The starting frequency of electric motors with a power of less than 4KW for vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps shall not exceed 100 times per hour. The starting frequency of other motors shall not exceed 20 times per hour.
