1. Overview
CWD882 is a new generation high-performance digital two-phase stepper motor driver, which uses a 32-bit DSP processor and integrates anti resonance, low noise, micro step subdivision, and low temperature rise technologies to greatly improve the performance of stepper motors. It has the characteristics of low noise, small vibration, low temperature rise, and high high-speed torque. The driver adopts online adaptive PID technology internally, which can automatically generate optimal parameters for different motors without manual adjustment, achieving the best motor performance.
The driver voltage is DC 24V-90V, suitable for various models of two-phase hybrid stepper motors with currents below 8.2A. There are 10 types of micro step subdivisions (with a maximum subdivision of 20000 steps per revolution); Its maximum operating current range is 1.8A-8.2A, with a total of 8 output current levels; It has protection functions such as automatic half current, self check, overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent.

Users can set the half current function of the driver through SW4. OFF means that the static current is set to half of the dynamic current, and the current automatically decreases to half within 0.5 seconds after the pulse stops; ON indicates that the static current is the same as the dynamic current. General users should set SW4 to OFF to reduce motor and drive heating and improve reliability.

Detailed description of signal interface: The interface circuit inside the CWD882 stepper motor driver adopts optocoupler signal isolation, and R in the figure is an external current limiting resistor. The connection method is differential connection, with good anti-interference performance.



The external dimensions of the driver are 118 × 75 × 34mm, as shown in the external dimension diagram. Pay attention to leaving more than 10CM of space for heat dissipation. During installation, it should be tightly attached to the metal cabinet to facilitate heat dissipation.
