Separation and Purification

After the reaction is complete, the reaction product needs to be separated and purified to produce high-purity chloromethane.

The separation process uses a distillation tower to separate chloromethane by utilizing its boiling point lower than that of hydrogen chloride and methane. The separated chloromethane contains many impurities, and before proceeding to the next purification step, it is necessary to absorb the hydrogen chloride gas through an absorber. The absorber uses high-purity water for absorption, absorbs hydrogen chloride, filters out impurities, and finally obtains high-purity chloromethane.
