In the coal gangue treatment project of a large coal mine in North China, the heavy metal pollution of coal gangue in the mining area is relatively serious, and traditional treatment methods are ineffective. After conducting on-site inspections, the Desen Environmental team made targeted adjustments to the washing process and chemical formula of the washing equipment based on the characteristics of coal gangue. During the trial operation phase of the equipment, the problem of unstable removal efficiency of heavy metals was encountered. Through repeated experiments, technicians optimized the parameters of multi-stage countercurrent cyclone washing and the addition ratio of chelating agents, ultimately resulting in a significant improvement in the removal rate of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium. The treated coal gangue met the relevant resource utilization standards and was partially used for road construction in the mining area, reducing dependence on new sand and gravel materials.
