Why should it be made into a 'columnar' shape?

1. Reduce bed pressure drop: Powder will severely block the airflow channel, resulting in a significant pressure drop. Columnar particles form regular and stable bed gaps, allowing fluids (gases or liquids) to pass through with low resistance.

2. Improve mechanical strength: resist wear and breakage caused by airflow impact, self gravity, temperature and pressure changes during loading and operation, ensure stable bed structure, and avoid powder blockage downstream.

3. Easy to operate: Easy to load, unload, and regenerate with automated equipment. It is the standard packing form for fixed bed adsorption/reactors.

4. Optimize mass and heat transfer performance: A certain shape and size are beneficial for fluid distribution, material diffusion, and heat transfer.
