1Characteristics of Cosmetics Wastewater Pollution

Cosmetics can be divided into general liquid unit, cream lotion unit, powder unit, aerosol and organic solvent unit, wax based unit and other units. The basic moisturizing ingredients of cosmetics are mainly divided into plant oils, waxes, hydrocarbons, synthetic oils and fatty acids, fatty alcohols and lipids; In addition, it also contains emulsifier, thickener, antioxidant, antiseptic, bactericide and essence pigment. The main sources of cosmetics production wastewater are as follows: (1) cleaning and rinsing wastewater. (2) Process drainage during product processing. The water quality of cosmetics production wastewater is above 1700-1000mg/L COD, 500-5000mg/L BOD, 80-5000mg/L SS, 20-300mg/L animal and vegetable oils, 17-200mg/L LAS, and pH between 5-12. The main characteristics of cosmetics production wastewater are as follows: (1) The amount of wastewater is generally not large, but the concentration of pollutants is high. (2) The composition of wastewater is complex. (3) There are many biologically recalcitrant substances. (4) There are many toxic and harmful substances.

IICosmetics wastewater treatment process

The treatment process needs to be combined with high concentrations of pollutants such as COD, BOD, SS, anionic surfactants, etc., with small water volume, large changes in water quality, and intermittent discharge. The combination process technology of coagulation sedimentation+ASB+SBR is preferred.
