Efficient Fiber Ball Filter
The fiber ball filter material used inside the high-efficiency fiber ball filter is made of polyester fiber threads tied together to form a spherical (or flat elliptical) shape. Compared with traditional steel particle filter material, it has the advantages of good elasticity, no floating surface, large gaps, long working cycle, and low head loss. During the filtration process, the gaps in the filter layer gradually decrease along the direction of water flow, which is more in line with the ideal distribution gradient of large gaps on the top and small gaps on the bottom of the filter material. It has high efficiency, fast filtration rate (20-50 m/h), large interception capacity, and the filtration cycle of fiber balls is about three times longer than that of sand filter material. The filtration effect is good and can be regenerated. It can be backwashed with soda water, and the flushing water volume is 1-2% of the filtered water volume.

【 Installation 】
The fiber bundle filter is placed on a horizontal foundation and fixed with anchor bolts or welded to an anchor plate embedded in the foundation. After the installation of the fiber ball filter, its horizontal deviation shall not exceed 5mm.
After the installation and adjustment of the fiber ball filter, the various pipe valves and external connecting pipelines can be installed. Before installing valves and pipelines, the inner surface of the pipeline and the flange connection surface should be cleaned to prevent rust and oil stains from contaminating the filter layer.
An open channel sewage ditch can be arranged in the equipment workshop, and the upper opening of the ditch should be covered with a cover plate.
The intake manifold must be higher than the highest point of the fiber ball filter to prevent water from flowing back into the Roots blower in case of cleaning errors. If this requirement cannot be met, a check valve should be installed on the air pipeline.
Equipment maintenance and precautions
(1) Fiber filter performance and replacement cycle
The filter material selected for the high-efficiency fiber bundle filter is a polymer chemical fiber material, which mainly filters and adsorbs suspended solids in water through surface physical adsorption. After adsorbing sludge, it can be regenerated by physical methods such as water and air scrubbing. This material has a heat resistance temperature of 106-127 ℃ and strong corrosion resistance to various alkalis and non oxidizing acids, with a continuous service life of not less than 10 years.
(2) Precautions
a. Possible reasons for poor effluent quality:
(1) Filter bed failure
(2) Incomplete cleaning
(3) Inlet water with air
(4) Improper dosage of coagulant
(5) The fluctuation of filtration flow rate is too large
(6) The inlet valve of the cleaning water is not tightly closed
(7) Inaccurate sampling and testing
b. Situations requiring special cleaning:
During the use of fiber ball filters, if a large number of microorganisms multiply or adsorb a large amount of oil stains on the fibers, special cleaning is required. The filter material can be soaked in 2% NaOH solution for 24 hours before cleaning.
Inlet and outlet water quality】
Inlet water quality: suspended solids ≤ 20mg/L, turbidity ≤ 20 F.T.U
Effluent quality: suspended solids ≤ 1.0mg/L turbidity ≤ 1.0 F.T.U
Note: The water before filtration is clean water that has been clarified and filtered through coagulation.
