Fire pump fire stabilizing equipmentSetting of fire pump and fire pressure stabilizing equipment

The fire water pump in the temporary high-pressure fire water supply system is usually in a closed state. When the alarm system confirms the occurrence of a fire and announces the command, the fire water pump will be turned on.

It takes a certain amount of time for the fire pump to reach normal speed after receiving the start signal. Therefore, it is necessary to have corresponding measures during this period to ensure the control of the initial fire. In other words, during this period, not only should there be water, but also a certain amount of water and pressure to complete the better control of the initial fire. The standard specifies that the equipment used to accomplish this mission is a high-level fire water tank, which not only needs to store the initial fire water volume, but also needs to meet the minimum operating pressure at the most unfavorable point of the water firefighting equipment. When the pressure is insufficient, a stabilizing pump and corresponding pneumatic water tank should be installed.

After the promulgation of the "Water Consumption Regulations", firstly, the provision in the original GB50016-2006 "Fire Protection Design Standards for Buildings" requiring the storage of fire water for 10 minutes disappeared; Secondly, the requirement in the original GB50045-95 (2005 edition) "Fire Protection Design Standards for High rise Civil Buildings" that the water output of the stabilizing pump should be determined according to different systems (no more than 5L/s for fire hydrant systems and no more than 1L/s for sprinkler systems) is missing, as well as the requirement that the regulating water volume of the pressure water tank should be 450L. These changes have caused confusion among many peers and they do not know how to handle the above-mentioned issues.

By carefully understanding the changes made during this process, one can find the answer. The standard compilers have made such significant adjustments in these areas, so there is no need to dwell on the provisions of the original standard, just follow the requirements of the Water Consumption Regulations.
