preprocessing

1. Chemical precipitation method

Calcium fluoride (CaF ₂) precipitate is generated by reacting with fluoride ions by adding precipitants such as calcium hydroxide and calcium chloride. When the fluoride content in wastewater drops below 15mg/L, it is necessary to use magnesium or aluminum salts in combination to enhance the removal efficiency, which can increase the efficiency by more than 40%. ‌

2. Adsorption method

Using activated alumina or natural mineral filter media, fluoride ions are removed through adsorption and ion exchange. After saturation of the filter material, it can be regenerated with aluminum potassium sulfate or sodium hydroxide solution, which can be reused for 30 years and is suitable for fluoride removal in drinking water. ‌

3. Biological treatment method
