Flocculation reaction is a very important process in water plants. The raw water is thoroughly mixed with chemicals and enters the flocculation reaction tank. Under constantly disturbed hydraulic conditions, particles form large flocs (commonly known as alum flowers) due to collision, neutralization adsorption, and net capture, which quickly settle in the subsequent sedimentation tank. Currently, the most commonly used are folded plate and grid reactors. 1. Folding plates are developed on the basis of baffle reactors, and their advantages are that the water flow continuously shrinks and twists between the folding plates, forming numerous small vortices and improving the collision and flocculation effect of particles. The folded plate reaction zone is close to a push flow reactor, so it requires a smaller reaction space and shortens the reaction time, generally within 10-15 minutes. Design parameters of folded plate reactor:
First stage flow velocity: 0.25-0.35m/s
Second stage flow velocity: 0.15~0.25m/s
Third stage flow velocity: 0.10-0.15m/s
Folding angle: 90 °, 120o
Wave height: 0.25-0.40m. Our company mainly provides folded plates made of stainless steel and fiberglass materials. The setting of grids and bars can be divided into three sections, with different flow velocities. Taking grid as an example: first section: 80 × 80mm holes, flow velocity 0.25-0.30m/s, above 16 layers; Middle section: Hole size of 100 × 100mm, flow velocity of 0.20-0.25m/s, with 8 or more layers; The end may not have a grid.
