Researchers can connect to cable connector models for their specific multi electrode components, whether it's 0.05 "or 0.025" nano Omnetics connectors, or even other connector systems from another company. It can measure impedance values between 1 kiloohm and 5 megaohms and display this value on an easily readable quality analog instrument. A switch is provided, in one position, the IMP-2A-MC will test the impedance of the electrode, and in another position, it will allow external current or voltage sources to be applied to the electrode.

External current or voltage sources can be used to remove metal debris or decompose oxide layers that may cause impedance readings to increase, perform bubble testing, or reduce impedance. The front panel calibration potentiometer allows for easy calibration of the device using external resistors within any range, and the IMP 2A and IMP-2A-MC can also be calibrated using the front panel calibration button. The battery test switch will indicate the battery life on the analog instrument.

The specifications of the single channel impedance tester are the same as those of the eighteen channel IMP-2A-MC, but with only one input connector. The cables of the input and reference connectors are equipped with convenient crocodile clips for connecting to the electrodes.
