Industrial boiler antifreeze is a key medium to ensure the normal operation of boiler systems in low-temperature environments. Its main function is to prevent the cooling system from freezing, while also providing anti boiling, anti-corrosion, and anti scaling properties. Compared with ordinary water, antifreeze can effectively prevent pipeline freezing and cracking, and reduce maintenance costs caused by scaling and corrosion, making long-term use more economical.

At present, the mainstream industrial boiler antifreeze in the market is mainly ethylene glycol type, with a freezing point as low as -60 ℃ and a boiling point exceeding 110 ℃, which can adapt to low-end temperature environments. When selecting, it is necessary to choose products with lower freezing points based on the local low-end temperature (usually more than 10 ℃ lower than the ambient temperature), and be careful to avoid mixing different brands. In addition, antifreeze needs to be replaced regularly (usually every two years), and the system should be thoroughly cleaned and the liquid level checked during replacement.

Boiler antifreeze has core characteristics such as low-temperature protection, corrosion prevention, scale prevention, and high boiling point, which can effectively protect the system from stable operation in low-end environments.

Low temperature protection capability

High quality antifreeze (such as ethylene glycol type) can maintain fluidity at low temperatures ranging from -45 ℃ to -30 ℃, preventing pipeline freezing and cracking. For example, Kunlun Zhengtu antifreeze achieves extreme protection at -45 ℃ through an ethylene glycol formula, and laboratory data shows that its freezing point curve is 30% smoother than ordinary products. ‌

Corrosion and scaling prevention

Adding rust inhibitors, scale inhibitors, and other components to antifreeze can effectively inhibit the corrosion of metals (copper, iron, aluminum, etc.) and the formation of scale. Haobei brand antifreeze enhances metal protection with sodium silicate and does not contain harmful substances such as phosphates. ‌

High boiling point and heat dissipation performance

The boiling point of antifreeze is usually above 110 ℃, which is higher than 100 ℃ of water. Using it in summer can reduce the risk of boiling. Some products (such as 40 antifreeze) maintain good flowability at low temperatures of -35 ℃, with a thermal conductivity decay rate of only 3%. ‌

Basic operating procedures

1. System emptying and cleaning

Drain the original liquid from the boiler, thoroughly flush the water system, and remove impurities and water stains. ‌

If replacing the antifreeze, special cleaning agents should be used to treat the residue. ‌

2. Addition of antifreeze

Add antifreeze to 30% -50% of the boiler volume (refer to the product instructions for specific proportions), and then dilute with water to the target concentration. ‌

Prioritize using distilled water or clean tap water to avoid impurities affecting anti-corrosion performance. ‌

3. Exhaust and testing

Open the exhaust valve or use a pump to remove bubbles and ensure smooth liquid circulation. ‌

Start the boiler and run it for a few minutes. After the temperature returns to normal, test the concentration and performance of the antifreeze. ‌

Precautions for use

Avoid mixing: Different brands of antifreeze should not be mixed to avoid reducing their anti-corrosion performance.

Regular maintenance: Replace the antifreeze every 1-2 years, and replace it promptly if the pH value is below 5.5.

Safe operation: Ethylene glycol is toxic, protective equipment should be worn during operation, and waste liquid should be professionally treated.

Common problem handling

Abnormal density: If the density decreases, supplement with concentrated solution of the same brand; If it rises, add distilled water to adjust.

Leakage inspection: Tighten the seal after adding to prevent leakage caused by rubber component retraction.
