Molecular sieve hydrophobic adsorbentCompared with other adsorbents, molecular sieves have the following advantages:
1. Strong adsorption selectivity
This is because the pore size of the molecular sieve is uniform and uniform, and it is also an ionic adsorbent, so it can selectively adsorb according to the different sizes and polarities of the molecules. It can effectively remove ethylene and propylene from saturated hydrocarbons, as well as acetylene from ethylene, which is determined by its strong polarity.
2. Strong adsorption capacity
Even if the concentration of gas composition is very low, it still has a large adsorption capacity.
3. It still has a large adsorption capacity at higher temperatures, while other adsorbents are greatly affected by temperature. Therefore, under the same temperature conditions, molecular sieves have a larger adsorption capacity
Molecular sieve hydrophobic adsorbentIt is precisely because of the above advantages that molecular sieves have become an excellent adsorbent, widely used in the production of basic organic and petrochemical industries. In the treatment of pollutant gases, they are also commonly used for the purification of waste gases containing SO2, NO, CO, CO2, CCl4, water vapor, and gaseous hydrocarbons. At present, zeolite molecular sieves have been widely used in the field of volatile organic compound treatment. Zeolite molecular sieve wheels are playing an increasingly important role in the treatment of volatile organic compounds with high air volume and low concentration. They can concentrate VOCs with a concentration of only tens of milligrams per cubic meter by 10-20 times, making them gases that can be recovered or burned.
According to their catalytic properties, molecular sieve catalysts can be divided into the following points:
(1) Acid catalysts utilize the surface acidity of molecular sieves for catalytic reactions.
(2) A bifunctional catalyst, molecular sieve, can be loaded with platinum and palladium metals to obtain a bifunctional molecular sieve catalyst that combines metal catalytic and acid catalytic functions.
(3) Shape selective catalysts, due to the fact that the catalytic effect of molecular sieves generally occurs within the crystal space, the pore size and pore structure of molecular sieves have a significant impact on catalytic activity and selectivity. Molecular sieves have regular and uniform intragranular pores, and the pore size is close to the molecular size, which significantly changes the catalytic performance of molecular sieves with the geometric size of reactant molecules, product molecules, or reaction intermediates.
