Commonly used filter media include quartz sand, anthracite, manganese sand, etc., mainly used for water treatment turbidity removal, softening water, and pre-treatment of pure water. The effluent turbidity can reach below 3 degrees

1. Porous media filters are widely used in water treatment processes and can be used alone, but most of them are used as pre filtration for water quality deep treatment (exchange resin, electrodialysis, reverse osmosis).

2. Multi media filter is a commonly used pre-treatment device for deep water purification, which can be filled with different filter materials according to process requirements.
3. The material of the multi-media filter can be fiberglass, A3 steel anti-corrosion or rubber lined, or all stainless steel. There are two types of operation modes: fully automatic and manual. Automatic control adopts automatic controllers and pneumatic and hydraulic valves imported from the United States. It is easy to operate and maintain, and has been widely used in pre-treatment devices of water treatment processes in various industries.

4. The filter material of a multi-media filter (including a dual filter material filter) should have sufficient chemical stability, and the relative density and particle size of each medium should have certain differences. The double-layer filter material composed of anthracite and quartz sand uses anthracite with a relative density of 1.4-1.6 and a particle size of 0.8-1.8mm, and quartz sand with a relative density of 2.6-2.65 and a particle size of 0.5-1.2mm. In addition to the above two types of filter materials, the 3-layer filter material can also use heavy ores such as manganese sand and magnetite with a relative density of 4.7-5.0 and a particle size of 0.5-4mm.

Notes:

(1) The parallel tolerance between the water outlet and the filter plate is required to be no more than 2 mm.
(2) The levelness and unevenness of the filter plate are both less than ± 1.5 mm. The structure of the filter plate is optimized by overall processing. When the diameter of the cylinder is large or constrained by raw materials, transportation, and other factors, two piece splicing can also be used for forming.
(3) Reasonable treatment of the joint parts between the filter plate and the cylinder is particularly important for the air backwashing process.
① To eliminate the radial gap between the filter plate and the cylinder caused by errors in filter plate processing and cylinder rolling, circular arc ring plates are generally welded segment by segment. The contact area must be fully welded.
② The radial clearance treatment method for the central pipeline and filter plate is the same as above.
Note: The above measures ensure that filtration and backwashing can only be connected through the gap between the filter cap or drain pipe. At the same time, it also ensures the uniformity of the distribution of backwashing and filtering channels.
(4) The radial error of the through holes machined on the filter plate is ± 1.5 mm. The increase in the fitting size between the filter cap guide rod and the filter plate through hole is not conducive to the installation or fixation of the filter cap. The processing of through holes must be carried out using mechanical equipment.
(5) The material of the filter cap is nylon, followed by ABS. Due to the added filter material on the upper part, the compression load on the filter cap is extremely high, requiring high strength to avoid deformation. Elastic rubber pads should be added to the contact surfaces (upper and lower surfaces) between the filter cap and the filter plate.
