InBiological washing towerIn the middle, the biological suspension (circulating liquid) sprays down from the top of the absorption chamber, and the exhaust gas enters from the bottom of the absorption tower. After coming into contact with the biological suspension, it dissolves in the liquid phase, transferring pollutants from the exhaust gas to the liquid phase and achieving mass transfer process. The biological suspension that absorbs organic matter from the exhaust gas flows into the regeneration reactor and is then oxygenated with air for regeneration. The absorbed organic matter is ultimately degraded and removed by microorganisms in the regeneration tank through microbial oxidation. The effluent from the regeneration tank enters the secondary sedimentation tank for sludge water separation, the supernatant is discharged, and the sludge flows back. Part of the effluent from the regeneration tank is circulated back into the absorption tower to improve the removal rate of pollutants.
The structure of the spray type washing tower is similar to that of the biological drip filtration tower, but the difference is that the microorganisms in the washing tower mainly exist in the liquid phase, while the microorganisms in the drip filtration tower mainly exist on the surface of the filter medium. The bubble washing tower is a three-phase fluidized bed, typically consisting of two interconnected reactors. The first reactor is the absorption unit, which transfers pollutants from the gas phase to the liquid phase by bubbling gas into contact with a mixture of water, fillers, and biomass. The second reactor is a biodegradation unit, where pollutants undergo biodegradation. Sometimes, these two reactors are merged into one device. The use of activated carbon as a filler in such devices can effectively increase the removal rate of pollutants from the gas phase.
