The reduction ratio of a planetary gearbox is one of the professional terms. The reduction ratio is the main parameter value of a planetary gearbox to change a certain motion, which changes the speed, torque, and inertia moment through the reduction ratio of the planetary gearbox. The formula for calculating the reduction ratio of a planetary gearbox is as follows: the number of teeth on the inner ring gear divided by the number of teeth on the sun gear plus one equals the reduction ratio. The reduction ratio can be calculated based on the input and output speeds of the gearbox. The formula is input speed divided by output speed=reduction ratio of the planetary gearbox.
Precision planetary gearbox is a relatively precise mechanical device used to reduce speed and increase torque. According to the different transmission stages, it can be divided into single-stage and multi-stage reducers. A single-stage reducer refers to a reducer with a smaller reduction ratio, while a two-stage reducer has a larger reduction ratio. The larger the reduction ratio, the more the speed is reduced, and the slower the output speed, but the greater the increased torque. The commonly used reduction ratios for standard precision planetary gearboxes are 1st gear ratios: 3, 4, 5, 7, and 10. Second speed ratio: 15, 16, 20, 28, 30, 35, 40, 50, 70, equal speed ratio.
When the planetary gearbox is matched with a stepper motor, servo motor, and brushless motor with a constant power and speed, the higher the speed ratio and torque, the slower the output speed. The smaller the speed ratio, the smaller the output torque and the faster the output speed. The larger the reduction ratio, the higher the number of transmission stages of the planetary gearbox, so the efficiency of the gearbox will also decrease accordingly.
