The rotating ring electrode is one of the important tools for electrochemical measurement. Its main structure is to place a concentric ring on the same plane as the disk, and isolate the disk from the ring electrode with insulating material. Disk electrodes are usually made of the material being studied, while ring electrodes are typically made of platinum or gold. In order to achieve excellent electrode performance, the rotating ring disk electrode must have special requirements in terms of machining accuracy, transmission device, speed measurement system, geometric shape, concentricity, and insulation performance of the ring electrode and disk electrode. The HP-1 rotating ring disc electrode is carefully designed according to the above requirements, with features such as beautiful appearance, high insulation performance between electrodes, good concentricity between rings and discs, large speed range, automatic display of speed, and automatic setting and control of deoxygenation mixing time. 3、 Working principle

1. Principle of electrode reaction

When the rotating ring disk rotates, if the laminar flow conditions are met, the measured solution will rise from the center of the disk, approach the disk, move radially outward along the disk, pass through the insulation layer, and reach the ring electrode. The ring electrode and the disk electrode are polarized separately.

After the electrochemical reaction occurs on the disk electrode, intermediate product B must be carried to the disk by the tangential motion of the fluid. The ring electrode is pre controlled in the limit diffusion potential region of B, so that B can quickly react on the ring electrode. Based on the potential size of the control electrode, it can be determined which particles participate in the reaction on the ring electrode. The concentration of intermediate product B generated by the electrochemical reaction on the abacus electrode can be calculated by the magnitude of the loop current. The ratio of ring current to disk current is the capture coefficient of the rotating ring disk electrode.
