Product Details

Brief introduction
This product uses a high-precision capacitive grid displacement sensor for measuring the carbonation depth on concrete surfaces. The biggest advantage of this meter is that the carbonation depth is directly displayed digitally, with high accuracy and can be manually held. The instrument uses A76 button alkaline batteries, which have low power consumption and long standby time.
Mm/inch key: conversion between metric and imperial systems; HOLD key: manual numerical hold key; OFF/ON button: power switch; ZERO key: Zero adjustment.
Instrument calibration method: Turn on the power switch to place the instrument in metric state, pick up the instrument, and gently press one end of the guide rod vertically downwards on the measuring block (or flat glass surface) to make it coincide with the support foot. Press the ZERO key to zero, and then move the instrument to directly measure the depth of carbonization, which can be used continuously. Note that after instrument calibration, as long as the ZERO key is not pressed in any state, it can be used continuously.
2、 Measurement method
On the surface of the concrete, chisel a circular pit with a diameter of 50mm and a depth of not less than 10mm. Use a hair dryer to blow away the floating dust, and then use a burette to drip 1% alcohol phenolphthalein solution along the edges of the pit (pour the 1% alcohol phenolphthalein solution into a used mousse bottle or ZE gel water bottle to prevent alcohol evaporation, and it is easy to carry and use). )The principle of using phenolphthalein solution to measure carbonization depth is acid-base reaction. Phenolphthalein serves as an indicator (turns red when exposed to alkali and colorless when exposed to acid). Wherever carbon dioxide diffuses, the phenolphthalein solution drops onto it and appears colorless, while where it does not diffuse, it appears red (in the presence of alkali). Select the darkest, second deepest, and lightest pit edges, press the tip of the guide rod lightly, and press down the guide rod until the support foot of the instrument coincides with the surface of the concrete. At this point, read the data displayed on the table and take the average value to obtain the carbonation depth of the concrete. The measurement of carbonation depth should correspond to the rebound measurement area. When the three carbonation depth values measured on the component are relatively uniform (range ≤ 2.0mm), only three points can be measured, and the average value can be taken as the representative value of the carbonation depth of the component. The strength value of the corresponding measurement area can be obtained by checking the table with the rebound value of the corresponding measurement area; When the three carbonation depth values measured on the component are uneven (range>2.0mm), the carbonation depth of each measuring area should be measured. The carbonation depth value of each measuring area and the rebound value of that measuring area should be checked in the table to obtain the strength value of the measuring area.
