In the specially designed electrolytic cell system of the sodium hypochlorite generator, the anode and about 3% dilute salt water undergo electrolytic reaction. The electrolytic salt water gains and loses electrons, converting chloride ions in the salt water into chlorine and sodium ions into sodium hydroxide. At the same time, chlorine gas, water, and sodium hydroxide undergo chemical reactions in the electrolytic cell system to produce sodium hypochlorite solution. The solution enters from one end of the electrolytic cell system to the other, that is, one end in and one end out. The solution in the electrolytic cell system is flowing.
The electrolytic chemical reaction is completed within the entire electrolytic cell system to electrolyze dilute salt water. Generally, the electrolytic plates in the electrolytic cell are spaced around 2MM apart, so the requirements for salt water are relatively high. Before electrolysis, the salt water needs to be filtered to prevent impurities from entering the electrolytic cell and getting stuck between the plates, which can damage the equipment. The hydrogen gas and sodium hypochlorite solution produced during the electrolysis process enter the drug storage system from the electrolytic cell. Throughout the process, the electrolytic cell, pipelines, raw material system, and drug storage system all require high standards to ensure that no faults occur due to hydrogen gas leakage, static electricity, or electric sparks.
