Technical Agreement for Underwater Oscillatory QSB Submersible Jet AeratorPerformance Description:
High Efficiency and Energy Saving
Jet aeration increases with the increase of water depth, and the oxygenation efficiency also increases. The new jet aerator can achieve an oxygenation efficiency of 35% at a water depth of 8 meters, with an air-water ratio of only 4:1. The amount of water used to aerate the same amount of air is relatively small, and the energy consumption will also decrease, greatly reducing the cost of sewage treatment.
Oxygen transfer rate
Gas is cut into extremely small bubbles by high-speed fluid impact, which is one of the reasons for high oxygen utilization efficiency. The turbulent flow generated by the jet aerator continuously updates the gas/liquid contact surface, which is also conducive to the transfer of oxygen.
The oxygen utilization rate (SOTR) of anaerobic clean water was measured for each aeration method at 20 degrees Celsius and one atmosphere pressure, Standard Oxygen Transfer Rate ), During the actual oxygenation of sewage, the large amount of salt, COD, and SS contained in the sewage can cause a certain degree of decrease in the actual oxygen utilization rate. The alpha coefficient is a parameter that characterizes the magnitude of this decrease. For a given sewage, the alpha coefficient depends on the aeration device, and is defined as the ratio of the oxygen utilization rate of a certain aeration device in the given sewage to that in the clean water. The alpha coefficient of microporous aeration is generally 0.4, while the alpha coefficient of jet aeration is as high as 0.95, mainly due to the strong jet fluid, which endows the gas with energy to overcome the surface tension of sewage, making it easier for the gas to overcome the resistance during the transfer of gas/liquid phases.
Highly adaptable
The oxygenation and mixing of jet aerators can be controlled separately. The operator can adjust the amount of air according to the demand for dissolved oxygen, while mixing is achieved through circulating water. By combining manual control and DO instrument automatic control, the air supply can be turned off at low loads to effectively reduce energy consumption while maintaining the system's load capacity. Maintaining a mixed state even when gas supply is stopped is highly suitable for anaerobic/aerobic alternating cycle biochemical treatment systems such as SBR and CASS.
Equipment installation
The jet aeration system can fully mix without covering the entire bottom of the tank, which can significantly save installation time and costs.
Waste gas mist
The jet aerator has high oxygen utilization rate and is installed at the bottom, so it will not produce water mist and foam like the surface aerator (surface aerator, rotary brush).
Equipment maintenance
The jet aeration system, due to its working principle and structural characteristics different from traditional aeration methods such as microporous aeration, has a high-strength jet main pipeline and strong wear-resistant nozzles, making it maintenance free for life. The excellent corrosion resistance of the PP material used can effectively avoid breakage, detachment, corrosion, and wear. In addition, there are no operating components in the tank, making it maintenance free for life. For environments with high hardness, high salinity, and high COD that often cause blockage and damage through microporous aeration, the thinnest part of the jet aeration system is the nozzle, but its inner diameter still exceeds 20mm, and this is the location of high-speed spraying. The strong scouring effect prevents scaling and crystallization from forming;
easy maintenance
The auxiliary equipment of the jet aeration system refers to the circulating water pump and fan, all rotating parts of which are located outside the pool, making maintenance and repair very convenient without the need to empty the pool.
service life
The jet aeration system benefits from its materials and structure, which are sturdy, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant, with a service life of over 30 years.

Several commonly used aeration methods for aerators:
1. Blower aeration:
Use a blower with a certain air volume and pressure to connect the conveying pipeline, and force air into the sewage tank through a microporous air diffuser (or microporous air diffuser), so that the sewage in the tank can fully contact with the air.
Characteristics of blower aeration:
1) Has a certain amount of airflow. The purpose of aeration is to increase sufficient dissolved oxygen in water or liquid to meet the oxygen demand of aerobic organisms.
2) Having sufficient pressure. The aeration process of a blower is the transfer of molecular weight between gas and liquid. In order to fully diffuse and contact the gas in the liquid and prevent suspended solids from sinking, the aeration fan must be able to generate sufficient pressure.
The main application areas of blower aeration are: (1) aquaculture blower aeration; (2) Water treatment with air blowing and aeration.
2. Surface aeration:
It is a method of using a motor to directly drive an axial flow impeller, which sprays wastewater from a conduit through a water guide plate and forms a thin (or droplet shaped) water curtain. During flight, it comes into contact with air to form water droplets, which collide with the liquid surface when falling. The liquid surface produces turbulence and a large number of bubbles, increasing the oxygen content in the water. It can suck up the water at the bottom of the pool and send it out from above, forming a circulating water flow with stirring effect. It is suitable for aeration of domestic sewage, agricultural and animal husbandry oxygen supply, and various other industrial sewage.
3. Submersible jet aeration:
A dedicated water pump for aeration design, consisting of an intake duct, nozzle seat, mixing chamber, and diffusion pipe. The water flows into the mixing chamber at high speed through the nozzle seat connected to the pump outlet, and the air is guided to the mixing chamber by the intake duct and combined with the water flow before being discharged through the diffusion pipe. Also known as jet aerator.
Characteristics and Applications of Submersible Jet Aeration:
The deep water self-priming submersible jet aerator agitates and oxygenates the water body simultaneously, with fine bubbles that can achieve high oxygen transfer rates and have the advantage of unobstructed impellers. The strong unidirectional liquid flow creates effective convective circulation, and the motor load changes very little with the water level, making it more suitable for application in pools with large water level changes. Without the need for compressed air, the maximum diving aeration depth can reach 10m. It is low-cost, easy to install and maintain.
4. Submerged aeration:
The use of a motor to directly drive the rotation of the impeller to generate centrifugal force, causing low pressure in the vicinity to be sucked into the water flow. At the same time, a vacuum is also created at the inlet of the impeller to suck in air. In the mixing chamber, this air mixes with water and is rapidly discharged by centrifugal force, which is called a submerged aerator. Due to the strong water jet, it creates effective convective circulation, which divides the air into numerous small bubbles. The bubbles rise slowly, allowing oxygen from the atmosphere to dissolve into the water. The bubbles are uniform and have a large surface area, making their efficiency much higher than other types of aeration equipment.
Technical Agreement for Underwater Oscillatory QSB Submersible Jet AeratorMain advantages:
1. Oxygen transfer rate
In addition to the high oxygen transfer efficiency caused by the diffusion of small air bubbles in the liquid, the turbulent flow generated by the jet aerator continuously updates the gas/liquid contact surface, which is more conducive to the transfer of oxygen. The parameter a is the ratio of the oxygen transfer coefficient in sewage to that in clean water. Compared with most other microporous diffusion theories, the MTS jet aeration system has a larger value of a due to its constantly updated gas-liquid contact surface.
2. Applicability of the process
The oxygenation and mixing of MTS jet aerators can be controlled separately. The operator can adjust the amount of air according to the demand for dissolved oxygen, while mixing is achieved through circulating water. By combining manual control and DO instrument automatic control, energy consumption can be reduced at low loads. Maintaining a mixed state even when gas supply is stopped is highly suitable for anaerobic/aerobic alternating cycle biochemical treatment systems (such as SBR).
3. Mix thoroughly
In addition to the vertical mixing energy generated by the rising bubbles, circulating water also generates energy in the horizontal direction. Unlike microporous aeration systems, MTS jet aeration systems do not need to cover the entire bottom of the tank to fully mix, which can save installation time and costs.
4. Reduce exhaust gas and water mist, easy to control foaming and wiping
The standards for atmospheric environmental quality are becoming increasingly strict, and we are beginning to pay attention to the generation of waste gas and water mist during the aeration process of sewage treatment. Due to the high oxygen utilization rate of the jet aerator, it produces less exhaust gas and requires minimal investment and operating costs to collect and treat the exhaust gas. MTS jet aerator belongs to submerged design, which does not generate water mist and a large amount of foam like surface aerators (surface aerators, rotary brushes).
5. Easy maintenance
The jet aeration system of the submersible aerator uses common auxiliary equipment such as centrifugal pumps, centrifugal fans, or Roots fans. All rotating components are located outside the pool, making maintenance and repair very convenient. The high velocity liquid and gas inside the jet aerator prevent blockage, and the jet aerator can also be equipped with its own backwash system.

Regular inspection and maintenance of aerators
Before leaving the factory, each submersible jet aerator undergoes a thorough final inspection to ensure its reliable use.
To ensure the service life of the aerator, it is recommended to conduct regular inspections and maintenance.
1. Cleaning
To prevent impurities from accumulating inside the submersible aerator at different times, clean water can be pumped from the submersible aerator to clean it. If the submersible aerator is not used for a long time, it should be placed in a dry place and pay attention to antifreeze.
2. Oil injection and oil change
The oil chamber of the submersible aerator has been injected with an appropriate amount of lubricating oil before leaving the factory. This oil should be replaced annually. The oil change should be carried out according to the following method: place the submersible aerator with the oil chamber screw plug facing downwards, loosen the screw plug, release the lubricating oil, then clean the oil chamber with washing oil, inject an appropriate amount of lubricating oil, replace with a new O-ring, and tighten the screw plug. If water is found in the oil, flush the oil chamber according to regulations, refill it with oil, and tighten the screw plug with O-ring. Three weeks later, it must be rechecked. If the oil turns into an emulsion again, the mechanical seals should be inspected. If necessary, it should be replaced (please contact our maintenance department). Note: The oil is transformer oil.
3. Operational malfunction
If there is a malfunction during the operation of the submersible jet aerator, and the cause cannot be determined and the troubleshooting methods provided later still cannot solve the problem, temporary methods should not be used, and unauthorized repairs and dismantling should not be carried out.
