They control the opening and closing of ball valves through pneumatic actuators to switch the direction of fluid flow. Here is their working mechanism:

1. Structural composition: composed of valve body, sphere, valve stem, seal and pneumatic actuator, etc. There are three channels inside the valve body, and the sphere is located in the channels to control the flow of fluid through rotation.

2. Working state: When no pneumatic signal is applied, the pneumatic actuator is in a neutral state, the ball is pushed towards the valve seat by the valve stem, the valve is in a closed state, and fluid cannot pass through. When a pneumatic signal is applied, the pneumatic actuator works to change the position of the sphere and achieve the opening or closing of the valve.

3. Opening process: When the pneumatic actuator receives the opening signal, the pneumatic piston pushes the valve stem upward, causing the ball to leave the valve seat and open a channel for fluid to pass through. At this point, another channel is connected to the sphere, and the direction of fluid flow switches.

4. Closing process: When the pneumatic actuator receives a closing signal, the pneumatic piston pushes the valve stem downward, causing the ball to come into contact with the valve seat again, closing the opened channel and preventing fluid from passing through.

5. Three way control: It has three channels and can achieve three-way control. By controlling the pneumatic actuator, different channel combinations can be selected to achieve fluid diversion, merging, or switching.
