The WR1000 wind energy assessment and measurement system consists of a data collector, communication module, meteorological sensor, and solar power system. The system has multi-channel access capability, and according to the actual communication conditions on site, it can use wireless high-frequency radio (VHF), wireless communication module (GPRS) and other channels for remote data transmission. It can work continuously for 30 days without sunlight. At present, our equipment is used in various parts of China and abroad in particularly harsh environments. The equipment operates stably and reliably, with complete data recording.

System Overview

The establishment of a wind measurement tower system for wind energy resource observation in the early stage plays an important role in wind energy resource investigation and evaluation, formulation of wind energy resource development plans, micro site selection and design of wind farms.

The WR1000 wind energy assessment and measurement system is based on the CR1000 data collector from CSI Corporation in the United States. It is used to analyze and evaluate wind energy resources in the early stages of wind farm projects, search for areas with abundant wind resources, and carry out site selection and construction planning. The sampling frequency of the system can be customized according to user needs (the frequency range depends on the selected sensor). The output data can be flexibly defined according to user needs and industry standards, and the calculation and analysis of the collected data can be set. The data records are saved in the CF card, and the data storage interval can be adjusted according to user needs.

System Configuration

ourThe WR1000 wind energy system has been expanded to include two types of wind sensors, WR1000-2D and WR1000-3D, based on the selected type of wind sensor, while all other main components remain unchanged. The sensors used are two-dimensional and three-dimensional wind sensors produced by the British company Jill. WindObserver and Windmaster/WindMasterPro have both passed MEASNET's requirements for "linear output" and are accompanied by proof attachments. 2D and 3D wind measurements are crucial in the field of wind energy. Wind speed data can be used to determine the installation location of wind turbines.

The WR1000-2D system is mainly equipped with a two-dimensional wind speed and direction sensor, which can be connected to multiple layers of conventional wind measurement sensors, and supports various AC pulse, switch, square wave pulse, and voltage signal output wind speed probes. The CR1000 control port can be directly connected to switches and square wave signals, while the LLAC4 can be connected to AC pulses, allowing for a total of 10 layers of wind speed, 4 layers of wind direction, temperature, air pressure, humidity and other sensors to be connected.

The WR1000-3D wind energy monitoring station is mainly used for long-term fixed wind energy monitoring, achieving unmanned operation and automatic data collection. The system uses CR1000 data collector as the collection and control core. The main sensor is GILL's industrial 3D ultrasonic anemometer, which outputs 3D wind speed components (U, V, W) and sound velocity (C), ensuring the normal operation of the system and reliable data acquisition even in harsh environments. This system can support synchronous measurement of two 3D ultrasonic anemometers at 10Hz.
