Overview
There are many structural types of self-priming pumps, among which the working principle of the external hybrid self-priming pump is to fill the pump casing with water (or the pump casing itself has water) before starting the water pump. After starting, the high-speed rotation of the impeller causes the water flow in the impeller channel to flow towards the vortex shell. At this time, a vacuum is formed at the inlet, causing the inlet check valve to open, and the air in the suction pipe to enter the pump and reach the outer edge through the impeller channel. On the other hand, the water discharged into the air-water separation chamber by the impeller flows back to the outer edge of the impeller through the left and right return holes. The extraordinary structure of the self-priming pump body means that after the water pump stops running, there is a certain amount of water stored in the pump body. When the pump is restarted, due to the twisting effect of the impeller, the air and water in the suction pipeline are sufficiently mixed and discharged into the air-water separation chamber. The gas in the upper part of the air-water separation chamber overflows, and the water in the lower part returns to the impeller to mix with the remaining air in the suction pipeline until all the gas in the pump and suction pipe is discharged, completing self-priming and normal pumping.
