How to use a fat analyzer correctly

1. Fold the filter paper cylinder and place it into the filter paper cylinder holder. The fat analyzer requires that the opening of the filter paper cylinder should not be higher or lower than the metal opening of the filter paper cylinder holder.

2. Place a layer of degreased cotton at the bottom of the filter paper cylinder and press it tightly. The compression thickness is approximately 2mm.

3. Sample weighing: For low fat samples such as grains and feed, about 2 grams of crushed samples can be directly weighed, with an accuracy of 0.02 grams. Transfer the sample into a filter paper cylinder, cover it with a layer of degreased cotton, and press it tightly to the mouth of the filter paper cylinder. Put it back into the aluminum cup and keep the inside and outside of the cup clean.

4. Transfer the filter paper holder and aluminum cup together into the bracket.

5. Pull up the handle, suction the filter paper holder onto the upper speed joint, and then pull down the handle. Install all samples one by one.

6. Pour 50ml of ethoxyethane or petroleum ether into each aluminum cup.

7. Wipe the heating plate clean without any impurities.

8. Install the bracket into the instrument, press down the pressure rod and lock it. Pay attention to checking that the position of the aluminum cup cannot be offset.

9. Keep the knob in a vertical position.

10. Pull up the handle and immerse the filter paper holder into the aluminum cup. Start soaking.

11. Set the temperature.

12. After soaking, pull down the handle and start the extraction process. Refer to the table in the instruction manual for extraction time.

13. After extraction, turn the knob to the horizontal position for solvent recovery. The solvent is recovered in a glass bottle above the knob.

14. Turn off the power after solvent recovery.
