The resource utilization of construction waste can reduce environmental pollution or secondary pollution caused by improper waste disposal or outdated regeneration technology, while reducing the demand for the development of primary mineral resources, alleviating the bottleneck of resource shortage, and having important strategic significance for achieving the goals of energy conservation and emission reduction, building a resource-saving and environmentally friendly society. The resource utilization of construction waste is an effective way to digest urban waste. The resource utilization of construction waste not only reduces the pressure of urban waste and improves the living environment, but also turns waste into treasure and promotes the development of circular economy.

Construction waste recycling and utilization
1. Concrete
Composed of a mixture of cement slurry and aggregates, covering the surface of fine and coarse aggregates, and then forming the mixture into a rock like substance, which can be used as a substitute for other natural stone materials.Crushed cement is a common substitute for building stones used in road and construction projects.
2. Wood
Building products made of wood include specification wood, engineered wood products, plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), fiberboard, columns, and utility poles. Most residential buildings typically use several types of wooden products, making it one of the main building materials.
3. Bricks
Brick and stone are one of the oldest and most trusted building materials by most people. Recycled bricks can become building materials for many projects. The weathered appearance provided by old, reusable bricks is almost impossible to obtain artificially. Therefore, there is a high demand for recycled bricks in places that require antique and worn-out appearances.
4. Metal
Construction and demolition will encounter many building materials made of metal. Usually, such materials include waterproof boards, structural supports, sliding systems, and steel used in pipelines and electrical facilities. Steel and metal building demolition materials have become targets for many contractors mainly due to their value. If metal is mixed with other fragments, buildings can be demolished and recycled using magnets and similar equipment to extract this valuable resource.
Even some cardboard, paper plastic, gravel, aggregates, and fine powder window glass are important recycling materials for construction waste.
