Guangzhou Institute of Microbiology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guangwei Group") was established in 1972. Its predecessor was Guangzhou Institute of Microbiology, a public institution under the Guangzhou Science and Technology Bureau. In 2020, it was transferred to Guangzhou High tech Zone Investment Group Co., Ltd. for compensation and became its directly affiliated second level enterprise. It is now a national high-tech enterprise, a Guangdong Province specialized and innovative enterprise, and one of the top 100 high-tech enterprises planned to be listed in Guangzhou. After more than 50 years of development, it has now become a state-owned comprehensive large-scale testing and certification platform that integrates product testing, certification, metrological calibration, safety evaluation, standard setting, technical research and development, academic exchanges, talent development, and popular science education.
Guangwei Group is one of the first third-party testing institutions in China to be accredited by CMA and CNAS qualifications. It has obtained over 4000 testing parameters and has led/participated in the development of more than 70 standards. It has nine major scientific and technological research institutions, including the National Air Purification Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center, Guangdong Fermentation Microecological Product Engineering Technology Research Center, Guangdong Industrial Microbial Fermentation Technology Key Research Base, and Guangzhou Microbial Pharmaceutical Key Laboratory; We have established Guangzhou Fermentation Engineering Technology Research Center, Biomedical Outsourcing Service Platform, and Guangdong Province Microbial Germplasm Resource Bank "one-stop" technology service platform, and have been awarded the honorary title of Guangdong Province Famous Brand Product.
Guangwei Group is primarily responsible for inspection and testing, with a core focus on biosafety related businesses. We are committed to building an inspection and testing service platform that spans the entire lifecycle of biosafety. Its holding and participating companies include Guangdong Huawei Testing Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Guangwei Metrology Testing Co., Ltd. (Guangdong Pubiao Technology Research Co., Ltd.), Guangdong Agricultural Environment Inspection and Testing Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Hengchuang Testing Technology Service Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Gaoxin Guangwei Biotechnology Co., Ltd., etc. It can provide integrated services such as inspection and testing, metrological calibration, safety evaluation, product certification, and management consulting for product development, academic research, quality control, environmental safety, production and circulation in various enterprises, universities, and research institutes. Development history:
In 1972, the Guangzhou Institute of Microbiology was established, directly under the Guangzhou Science and Technology Bureau
In 1998, the Guangzhou Industrial Microbiology Testing Center was established and co located with the Guangzhou Institute of Microbiology; Passed Guangdong Province Metrology Certification (CMA)
In 2003, it passed the laboratory accreditation of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS)
In 2011, became a service provider for Tmall quality inspection platform; Passed the qualification certification of food inspection agency (CMAF)
In 2014, obtained the qualification of Guangdong Province Public Place Health Inspection, Testing and Evaluation Institution
In 2016, won the honor of "Guangdong Province Famous Brand Product"
In 2017, became a service provider for JD Quality Inspection Platform; Becoming a domestically produced non special cosmetics registration and inspection institution recognized by the State Food and Drug Administration
