Plastic centrifugal pump is a mechanical device that relies on centrifugal force to transport liquids, and its main working principle is based on the rotational motion of the impeller. After the centrifugal pump is started, the motor drives the pump shaft to rotate, thereby driving the impeller installed on the pump shaft to rotate at high speed. Impellers are usually composed of multiple blades, which are curved or straight plate shaped, designed to apply forces to liquids during rotation.
When the impeller rotates, the liquid near the center of the impeller is subjected to centrifugal force and will be thrown out along the flow channel of the impeller towards the edge of the impeller. This process creates a low-pressure area at the center of the impeller, while the liquid at the edge of the impeller gains higher velocity and pressure. Due to the existence of pressure difference, liquid is sucked in from the center of the impeller and then pushed towards the outlet along the flow channel of the pump casing, achieving continuous delivery of liquid.
Specifically, as the liquid enters the impeller, its kinetic energy increases continuously with the rotation of the impeller. According to the law of conservation of energy, an increase in kinetic energy is accompanied by a change in potential energy. Under the action of centrifugal force, the static pressure energy of the liquid gradually increases as it flows from the center to the edge of the impeller. When the liquid reaches the edge of the impeller, it has high pressure and velocity, which can overcome external factors such as pipeline resistance, thus achieving the purpose of long-distance or upward liquid transportation.
Precautions for using plastic centrifugal pumps:
1. Installation requirements: The installation location should avoid environments with humidity or corrosive gases, ensuring a good foundation at the bottom of the pump. The suction and discharge pipelines should have brackets, and pumps cannot be used to support the pipelines. The diameter of the inlet and outlet pipelines should be consistent with that of the pump.
2. Operation precautions: During operation, the flow rate, head, temperature, noise and other parameters of the pump should be closely monitored. If there are any abnormalities, the pump should be stopped for inspection in a timely manner. Do not operate without water, do not adjust the suction capacity to reduce the displacement, and do not operate at low flow rates. At the same time, to prevent leakage of the packing box, new packing should be used when replacing the packing box.
3. Start stop operation: Before starting, ensure that the pump is filled with liquid to avoid dry operation. When shutting down, the outlet valve should be gradually closed before shutting down to prevent water hammer from damaging the pump.
4. Daily maintenance: Regularly inspect the pump's seals, bearings, and other vulnerable parts, and replace them promptly if there are any problems. Keep the pump body and surrounding environment clean, and regularly maintain the pump to extend its service life.
