Installation and inspection of platinum ORP electrodes. If the industrial ORP electrode is made of platinum, it can generally be installed without inspection. However, if the industrial ORP electrode is made of platinum sheet, it is necessary to check whether the platinum sheet of the ORP electrode has fallen off or detached. If the platinum plate falls off the ORP electrode, it will affect the normal measurement of the ORP instrument. A typical ORP electrode can be used on any pH/mv meter. ORP meters do not require calibration and can be used directly. When there are doubts about the quality or test results of ORP electrodes, ORP standard solutions can be prepared to test their mv values to determine the quality of ORP electrodes or instruments. ORP measuring electrodes (platinum or gold) should have a shiny surface, rough or contaminated surfaces can affect the electrode's response. The following methods can be used to clean and activate. For inorganic pollution, the electrode can be immersed in 0.1mol/L dilute hydrochloric acid for 30 minutes, cleaned with pure water, and then immersed in 3.5MKCL electrode immersion solution for 6 hours before use. For organic oil and oil film pollution, the platinum or gold surface can be cleaned with detergent, then washed with pure water, and immersed in a 3.5MKCL electrode immersion solution for 6 hours before use. Platinum surface pollution is severe, forming an oxide film. The platinum or gold surface can be polished with toothpaste, then cleaned with pure water, and immersed in electrode immersion solution for 6 hours before use. When polishing and cleaning with pure water on the surface, attention should be paid to not removing the platinum plate ORP electrode, and the platinum ring ORP electrode should not be affected.
