The dusty gas is powered by a fan and enters the tower under positive or negative pressure. Due to the presence of unbalanced and unsaturated molecular or chemical forces on the solid surface of activated carbon, when the solid surface comes into contact with the gas, it can attract gas molecules, concentrate and maintain them on the solid surface, and adsorb pollutants. After passing through a filter, the exhaust gas enters the equipment's dust removal system to purify the gas and meet high-altitude emission standards.

After a period of adsorption operation, activated carbon reaches saturation and starts the desorption catalytic combustion process of the system. The organic solvents that have already been adsorbed on the surface of activated carbon are desorbed through hot gas flow, and converted into harmless substances such as CO2 and water vapor through catalytic combustion reaction, releasing heat. The heat generated by the reaction is reused in the desorption heating gas flow through the heat exchange part. When desorption reaches a certain degree, the heat release and desorption heating reach equilibrium, and the system completes the desorption regeneration process without external heat.

Activated carbon desorption regeneration method

1、 Thermal regeneration method

The principle of thermal regeneration method is to eliminate the adsorbed organic matter from the activated carbon matrix in the form of decomposition, carbonization, and oxidation under heating conditions. Generally, the desorption temperature of honeycomb carbon is 80-90 degrees, and the desorption time is long. With the use of carbon, the desorption temperature gradually increases, but cannot exceed 130 degrees, and the desorption gas entering the carbon layer must have a flame arrester.
Regeneration steps:

(1) Drying, the drying temperature is generally below 100 ℃, mainly for evaporating pore water, and a small amount of low boiling point organic matter will also be vaporized. This process requires a large amount of latent heat of evaporation, and about 50% of the energy consumption in the thermal regeneration process is consumed during the drying process.

(2) Heat the activated carbon at approximately 350 ℃ to separate the low boiling point organic compounds.

(3) High temperature carbonization refers to heating carbon at around 800 ℃ to decompose, vaporize, or retain most of the organic matter in the form of fixed carbon.

(4) Activation refers to heating activated carbon within the range of 800 ℃ to 1000 ℃, so that the remaining carbon is decomposed by water vapor, carbon dioxide, or oxygen. The steps of thermal regeneration also vary slightly depending on the type of heating furnace, but the difference is not significant.

The regeneration rate of the hot regeneration method is relatively high, reaching 70% to 80%; Short regeneration time; Compared with the chemical drug regeneration method, it has strong universality; No regenerated waste liquid is generated. Disadvantages: The loss rate of regenerated activated carbon is relatively high, generally ranging from 5% to 10%; The chemical structure of the carbon surface changes and the specific surface area decreases; High temperature regeneration requires high requirements for regeneration furnace materials and high investment in regeneration furnace equipment; The cost of renewable energy consumption is relatively high; Repeated regeneration of charcoal will lose its adsorption performance. Generally, the desorption temperature of honeycomb charcoal is 80-90 degrees Celsius, and the desorption time is long. With the use of charcoal, the desorption temperature gradually increases, but cannot exceed 130 degrees Celsius, and the desorption gas entering the charcoal layer must have a flame arrester.
