Wind Tunnel Manual
1. Functions that wind tunnels can achieve
The main projects of this wind tunnel experiment include static model experiments, dynamic model experiments, and flow observation experiments
1) This wind tunnel can test the aerodynamic, drag, and stability performance of some small models (wing models, airplane models, car simulation models, building models, and some special shaped object models).
2) Dynamic model experiments include wing lift tests, flutter, vibration, and dynamic stability tests. The model is required to not only satisfy geometric similarity, but also simulate the structural stiffness, mass distribution, and deformation of the physical object.
3) Flow observation experiments are widely used to study the basic phenomena and mechanisms of flow.
The basic components of a wind tunnel include the tunnel body, power section, and measurement and control section.
working principle
Use a power device to drive a controllable airflow in a specially designed pipeline, causing it to flow through a stationary model placed in the experimental section, simulating the motion of the object in still air. Measure the aerodynamic forces acting on the model and observe the flow phenomena on and around the model surface. According to the similarity theory, organize the experimental results into similarity metrics that can be used for physical objects.
The experimental section is the central component of the wind tunnel, and the flow field in the experimental section should simulate the real flow field. Its airflow quality, such as uniformity, stability (referring to the variation of parameters over time), turbulence intensity, etc., should meet certain indicators.
Wind tunnels are mainly classified according to the speed range of the experimental section. Different speed ranges result in different working principles, types, structures, and typical dimensions. This wind tunnel belongs to the Eiffel type wind tunnel.
The technical specifications of this wind tunnel tester are as follows:
Equipment size: 1680 * 460 * 420mm;
Airflow: 0-3000m3/h;
Experimental section wind speed: 0-12m/s;
Measurement temperature range: 0-45 ℃;
Humidity: up to 100.
1) Turn on the computer to control the frequency converter to the air volume, test the power system for uniform air output, and then adjust the computer's wind speed from high to low.
2) Place the model to be tested into the experimental section of the wind tunnel, control the air volume with a speed control switch, and check the indication on the wind test meter. When the model rises, observe the data on the test meter to judge the quality of various models.
