Therefore, it can improve water quality and increase the survival rate of fish, making it a filtering material that combines physical and biochemical filtration effects. It has good elasticity, a large surface area, is not easily damaged, and can effectively filter impurities in water.
Compared to filter cotton, bio cotton has a higher density, is less prone to damage, and is much thicker, providing enough space to parasitize nitrifying bacteria. And it can also filter out some large foreign objects, so it can be said that biochemical cotton is a type of filter material that can be used in both physical and biochemical filters.
