Compared to filter cotton, bio cotton has a higher density, is less prone to damage, and is much thicker, providing enough space to parasitize nitrifying bacteria. And it can also filter out some large foreign objects, so it can be said that biochemical cotton is a type of filter material that can be used in both physical and biochemical filters. However, because the top of biochemical cotton is usually filter cotton, physical filtration is limited. Biochemical cotton quilts are widely used in upper, external, and internal filters.

The maintenance frequency is much less than that of filter cotton, usually around two months, depending on one's specific situation. When cleaning, use water from the tank and gently rub it a few times. Do not use tap water, because biochemical cotton parasitizes many nitrifying bacteria. If washed repeatedly, it is easy to wash away nitrifying bacteria, which greatly reduces the nitrification effect and causes fluctuations in water quality. Biochemical cotton does not need to be replaced frequently. If it is found to have weakened elasticity, internal damage, or has been washed too badly, it needs to be replaced
