CIRS 020 breast phantom design is used to evaluate the detectability of lesions of various sizes in tissue equivalent, complex, heterogeneous backgrounds. The CIRS 020 breast phantom provides a more realistic challenge for standard screen and FFDM breast imaging systems, as well as tomosynthesis and breast computed tomography.
The CIRS 020 breast phantom consists of a set of six (6) blocks made of heterogeneous breast equivalent materials, displaying the characteristics of real breast tissue and demonstrating how potential targets can be hidden by altering glands. Each board contains two tissue equivalent materials that simulate 100% fat and glandular tissue rotating together in a weight ratio of approximately 50/50. One of the plates contains various microcalcifications, original fibers, and lumps.
Measure 100 (H) x 180 (L) x 10mm (T) for each semi-circular plate. Each board, with its unique vortex pattern, provides different backgrounds when arranged in various combinations and thicknesses.
