Usually installed in aerobic biological treatment tanks (such as activated sludge tanks, oxidation ditches, etc.), its main function is to provide sufficient dissolved oxygen for aerobic microorganisms in water to promote their growth and reproduction, and accelerate the decomposition of organic matter in sewage. In addition, aeration can also remove harmful gases such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia from water, improving water quality.

These bubbles exchange gas with water during their ascent, transferring oxygen to the water and driving water circulation, allowing microorganisms in the wastewater to have sufficient exposure to oxygen and accelerating the biodegradation process.
