It is equal to the product of ultraviolet intensity and contact time. At the same UV intensity, the exposure time determines the UV dose. In large sewage treatment plants, due to the large water volume and uncertain contact time, the disinfection efficiency of ultraviolet disinfection machines in small sewage treatment plants is inferior to that of ultraviolet disinfection machines. In theory, the higher the dose of ultraviolet radiation, the better the disinfection effect. However, there are limitations to ultraviolet disinfection, beyond which other microorganisms cannot be economically and reasonably killed.
