Plug in installation flow monitor
SIKA flow switch monitors low viscosity liquid flow in pipelines. Providing a reliable solution to ensure minimum traffic and protect high-quality systems and devices from damage. These flow switches operate on the basis of well-established mechanical working principles. Due to different target lengths, the flow switch can choose multiple set points.
The flowing medium impacts the baffle fixed at the end of the target. The resulting dynamic pressure causes the target to move. This triggers the activation of the micro switch.

Application field
The SIKA flow switch is used to monitor volumetric flow. According to the requirements, it can meet the needs of various pipe diameters and set point ranges. Our modular approach allows for the design and customization of products to meet a variety of applications. Multiple temperature and pressure ranges, material selection, and connection method selection ensure a very high level of versatility, which is why SIKA flow switches are used in so many fields:

Product description
function
The flow switch includes a target system with a permanent magnet connected to its other end. Above the magnet is a spring contact, which is located outside the liquid flow and does not come into contact with it. There is also a second magnet that generates a force that can reset the switch to a position without flow.
When monitoring the flow rate, the liquid flow rushes towards the target system, pushing the target. This changes the relative position of the magnet and the spring contact, thereby activating the spring contact.
Once the liquid flow is interrupted, the target returns to its starting position, thereby activating the spring contact again. Two magnets repel each other, generating the force required to reset the magnets. Using magnetic force instead of regular spring plates means that the switch is more stable and durable, and less sensitive to pressure peaks.
